All,
I can vouch for the trailer and all the parts. I've been in it many times and gotten a lot of parts to rebuild Huey and other 914's. I had been encouraging John to sort through it and start to sell stuff, and they finally got arond to doing it. It's actually pretty well organized now.

My understanding is that when John was in FL, when he built race 914's or scrapped old rusted ones, he kept all the salvagable parts and they've been following him ever since.

I think there is still a bunch more stuff that has not been sorted through in the other trailer... Seriously, they could have a 914 only swap meet and you could spend days finding that little clip, or hing that you can't find anywhere.

Not a lot of concours, big stuff, but lots of the hard to find little things (though I know there are a lot of body panels in there!)

I'm looking for the roll bar pad in good shape. The one under the roll bar that goes from side to side.

are you talking about the part on the back that has the hooks in it for the targa top?

Yes, the padded part that is on the bottom of the roll bar. The targa top hooks go through this piece.

That looks doable. Is that surface or solid? It all looks like straight areas that could be easily patched.

The drivers rear fender, how is it where it joins the tail panel to form the taillights? My car has 20+ year old accident damage here that was bondo'd over. The remaining fatigued metal must be cut.

The area where the rear rubber bumper secures over the little metal piece that sticks out on my car is bent forward a good 3".

the majority of it is surface rust i think could just be sanded off, theres no major holes or anything on any corners just those few little dents, on the driver rear side it looks pretty good just a little surface rust around the edge of where the tail light goes...its all there around the rear corners untill the end of the tail light in between where the lock goes in the rear is gone already....i think john will sell them for cheap because shipping is going to be higher and we have no use for this car really since the frame is worthless...we just shipped a pair of after market bumpers that were fiberglass and the shipping was about $130 because they were 65" long...it sounds like some one didnt like that car before

ill have to look in the trailer..im not sure if we have any tan ones but ill check

Posted by: john914B.F.R. Aug 11 2010, 12:20 PM

the only smooth tan one we have is something someone already covered up the panel with...i dont think its factory because its over the basket weave material...the holes where the door handle go you can see the darker tan basket weave material under it...so i dont think it would match anything factory if thats what your looking for

How 'bout a complete carpet set in black or charcoal in ok daily driving shape - no worn spots or rips preferred?

we have some charcoal pieces for the trunks but not sure which trunk or if theyre the same...and i think we have a few odd pieces that are also charcoal ill have to see where they are are in and where they go...when we firts went through the trailer we got rid of any carpet pieces with worn spots and holes so any carpet pieces we have are in good condition some are still new

we have 2 on a car thats waiting to get the fenders cut off and the rest of the car is most likely going to the junk yard becasue the frame is shot...ill have to get back to you on the wheels becasue they are the only wheels we have left to roll a car, so untill that car leaves we wont be able to sell them...one of the wheels is in pretty good shape but the other one has some curb rash and some scrapes on it

I don't want holes on the bottom- they shouldn't have them. If you do find a decent pair, please let me know. You can send me a PM
I'm attaching a picture of a new sail trim. It should have a small hole in the top for the attachment screw and none below that.
Your help is much appreciated.

Hi!

Would you have any 0 280 000 043 or 0 280 000 044 ECU left? The Porsche number for this item is 039 906 021, an it is also sometimes called a CU14X.

Best regards,

do you need the ones that attach the hinges to the body or the ones that attach the lid to the hinges? because the ones that attach the lid to the hinges are regular bolts but the ones that attach the hinges to the body arent....the scrap car we have still has the hinges on it, if i can get the bolts out without breaking them ill sell them to you

Posted by: kenshapiro2002 Sep 23 2010, 08:23 PM

I need the one that attaches the lid to the hinge. They are not "regular" bolts as there is a shoulder that the hinge rolls over...a good 1/2" or so that is not threaded. Maybe you're talking about a later car than mine. Mine is a 1970 and the hinges for the later cars are different.

Have you all got any front body panels around? Some of the things I'm after (all passenger side):

headlight assembly and recess area metal
front cross panel (behind the bumper)
front bumper
front valence

I also saw that you have foglight grills around; are they still? What about foglights themselves?

Many thanks!

Hi, I need a gas tank for a 1973 914. I also need a plastic fuse cover and a seat belt light plastic cover. I am in Southern Cal.

thanks, Diane.

Do you have 2 door handles with the appropriate key? Early ignition with with same key as door handles a bonus, if not, an early ignition with key will work.

Attached Image stack of targa tops next to a 1.7L engine with at least 10 engine lids behind the tops

Attached Image gas tanks and mufflers
Attached Image pile of doors in the back, some more mufflers and heater boxes, under the green fender are torsion tubes

Attached Image entrance to the trailer

Greetings, wondered if you have an old Sebring or Bursch muffler sitting around that you need to get rid of. A friend of a friend says we lost his and we need to replace it. He said he cant remember what type it was but it was " high performance" and exited the drivers side in a single chrome tip type. I am trying to save some money and make him happy, but I don't think that will be totally possible:)
