Hi, my 914 (40IDF's) has some major commuting duty coming up and I want to address the breather situation. I have the el cheapo $20 breather box with the foam in it, but it doesn't work well for my old worn engine. I need one of the better breather boxes, used is fine. Let me know what you have! beerchug.gif

Brent:

When I installed a breather box ( the kind with foam in the box) it didn't

work well untill I drilled the guts out of the PCV valve. Makes it a clear shot.

Also sounds like you have a lot of blow by, beather won't cure that , but keeps the

oil off the of the engine. Good Luck Dave slap.gif

I made a breather 'spit bottle' from a thick plastic beverage bottle. It's mounted it under the trunk adjacent to the starter.

It's filled it with a big wad of spun cotton to keep oil from sloshing around. It doesn't look pretty, but it works well and it didn't cost much idea.gif
