914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ FS: Big Brakes for "Early" struts

Posted by: Eric_Shea Mar 30 2011, 04:26 PM

I have one pair of our aluminum Brembo M-Caliper upgrade that we put together for solid rotor cars. These are a direct replacement for the calipers on the front of a 1970 through mid 1972 914 and/or will bolt up to any solid rotor 911 strut.

Save 7lbs. in unsprung weight and gain 30% more pad area.

Asking $599.00 plus $10.50 shipping for the pair. No core charge required.

Eric,

These calipers will not work on a 74 914/4? What is the difference between the struts and rotors on a 70 to mid 72 car versus a late 72 to 76?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks for the info.

The offset is wrong. Later cars used a more common 411 caliper with thicker pads but the offset is not common to early 914's or 911's.

You would need to have some machining done.

Eric,

I'm very interested in these calipers. I will call you tomorrow to discuss what would need to be changed on my 74 to use them.

Thanks,
