914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ WTB; one CV joint

Posted by: sooba_dave Jul 14 2011, 02:23 PM

When I took the engine down, a piece of a CV bearing cage fell out. I'm not sure if they are re-buildable or if I just need the whole joint. Shipping to 61820 and I have PayPal.

I think many guy and gals out here probably have a good pile of old ones in miscellaneous crates here and there biggrin.gif

If you are new to rebuilding a greased bearing race of this size, especially a CV, you can do a general search on Google (no plug) and find plenty.

I'm going to recommend you deal directly with one of our site advertisers or even our classifieds, as they tend to be specialists in the Type IV and won't steer you wrong:

My recommendation is contact Eric Shea at PMB Performance (found on our site here as well). Yes, it's a shameless/accidental plug for one of many providers.

I have only used Eric's CVs of late - and I'm still not sure why I didn't shadow-box them on a wall with a small "Only Break In Case of Emergency" beer.gif

...nice package. aktion035.gif
