They still make them, David confused24.gif

KaptKaos set up a group buy a couple of years ago. I don't remember the cost, but it was worth it.

Contact Mainley to see what quantity they require for another group buy and what the reduction in cost would be (if cost is the stumbling block) shades.gif

I tried to order one from Mainely but he told me he doesn't make them any more for 914 only 356 & 912.

If there was enough interest I would be glad to organize a group buy.

Thanks

David

They are great and highly accurate. I compared readings to a calibrated temp instrument and it was dead balls on. I would love to have another one.

I have one in my '74 and would add one to the '72 if he would do another run.

Posted by: Harpo Aug 29 2014, 06:58 PM

I called and left a message asking how many orders would be needed before he would do another run

I don't need another; several years ago I bought one and very happy with it. Very well made, accurate, and easy to read. When my oil temp gauge seemed too high, the dip stick gauge gave me relief.....turned out the gauge was off.

I would be in for one

I finally got a hold of Mainely by design concerning the oil dip stick thermometers and he needs 20 people before he will make another run. Were still a little short

Does anyone have a picture of one of these things on a 914? Jim Kelly's photo looks like an airplane or something. I am not from Missouri, but can someone SHOW ME?
Did I miss the group price? I am interested, but not a solid buy yet.

Looks to me as though we have enough for the minimum order on these..........If not I will up my order to 2 or 3 if necessary to get this going.........That way I won't have to play musical dip sticks between my drivers...................Jerry

Bob has gotten back with me on the 914 dipstick. He was on the fence about making these any more but has agreed to do another run. The price will be $49.95 after this group buy the price will be going up. We have 22 people as now that have expressed interest so I will purchase a second if necessary to get to the required 24 units. It will take him a few weeks to get all of the materials so stay tuned.

Thanks for your patience.

I got one several years ago, as a tea drinker I had a tea kettle boiling away when it arriver. I stuck the dipstick in the boiling H2O and was dead on at 212. FYI
