Is this $80 kit the one that most are using for the turbo tie rod kit upgrade from OEM? I got that tie rod wrench on the group buy and am itching to use it.

No you don't want to buy the cheap kit. Many have and many regret it. Most only recommend Lemforder brand.

The only thing wrong with the cheaper one, at least what I have found, is the boot dries out and cracks. Now, mind you, this was many years ago. They may have addressed that issue and used a different material since then. The tie rod itself was just fine. That said, the one Warren is selling in the ad linked above is a fantastic product with history of longevity.
Arizona Autohaus sells the complete Lemforder kit for a reasonable price. They sell replacement rubber boots too.
