Wow an original 72 sixer? I have never seen a 72, seem rare as hens teeth. Would love to see some pics.

Hi Brett,

I've traced a total of 15 1972 VINs imported here.
The most part is still alive and running or waiting for a complete restore
Some has gone abroad.

No problem to send you some pics or post them here.

I too would love good detail about the 72 outside of it's column mounted ignition switch.

+1 - pics are obligatory especially of the differences between the Porsche builds of '70 - '71 to your Karmann build.

I was able to get a brand be cap last year. I can't remember if it was from the dealer or Engine Builder Supply.

I'm on holiday now.
As soon as I'll be back home I'll post some pics (the new project and the running one)
Is it correct to post here?

p.s. sorry Krieger, not understood. What ia a be cap?

Freisinget Motorsport in Germany may have many of the items you're looking for.
www.freisinger-motorsport.de
Email them your part numbers; their English is pretty good.
You'll have to wire them the money if you find something you want.

I know that they had NOS factory engine sheet metal (~$2000) and the oil filler neck and cap (~$200) last Spring.

As far as the oil cooler goes, Stoddard has a German made high efficiency core replacement oil cooler SIC 107.059.01 that is really nice.
I've just purchased one for my 914-6 conversion. $1335

I already bought from several VIPs dealers in DE.
For me was enough, yhank you agaih
,
In my opinion the most reliable is Lothar Stockl

Sorry, that didn't come out right. I was able to buy a new oil tank cap last year!

Thanks to Papermaker (John) I will close the deal for two of the items:

OIL COOLER (PET code 901.107.059.01)
And
ENGINE MOUNT (PET code 901.115.012.00)

Still looking for other parts.
Thank you.

The 72' 914-6 used a VW wire harness so along with the relay plate you will need a very special adaptor to plug the wire harness from the 72' harness into the 914-6 relay plate. I have one somewhere and will try to find it and post pictures.

Thx,
Bernd

Thank you Bernd.
Waiting for more pics soon

Here is the photo, sorry it took a while to find it. The 72' used a 914-6 relay board and then used this adaptor to work with the 914-4 chassis wire harness. Note: this is only applicable to a 72' 914-6Attached Image

Thank you Bernie. Is it for sale?
