Hi Blue6,
That would be great if you have an OE interior rear view mirror for my 76 - 914. I am doing a restoration and am ready to install my new windshield and noticed the mirror that came to me with the car is a metal stud glue on type like used on a Ford truck. I would like to go back original and the OE Porsche mirror that is a 2 sided tape material used to hold the mirror on the windshield.

Please let me know if have a mirror good enough for a quality restoration you are not using. Here is my contact information.

Hi 71Porsh,
The early 914 interior OE interior rear view mirror is different. I think the early might work but it may interfere with the visor movement. I have heard the late model will work on the early models but not sure if an early will work with the late model. I think the mirror head is a different size.

Sounds like you may have an early model mirror? I got a response back from a guy who may have a late model. If this does not pan out I could call Auto Atlanta to see if a 71 mirror will fit on the 76 if you have a good OE mirror for my restoration.
Thanks,
Bob

The size difference only affects the distance from the top of the mirror, to the top of the windshield. Notice the relationship of the mount to the mirror. No difference with the visors. Any stock mirror will fit any year car.

Yes it is shorter.

I actually have the BMW 320 conversion. Has worked well but visors line up different from stock.

i really. really like that short mirror. Worth converting back.....I just like having a clean windshield.

Bob, I was able to check tonight and found two late mirrors. I'll get pics in the morning and send them to you. Dave

Was able to check the mirrors out. Upon closer inspection, neither are nice enough for your application.
