Cant remember the year, but around an 2005 LL Bean edition with the 2.5 165 hp engine.
I can pick it up for ~$500.
I am not interested in a 914 swap, but maybe for a 912 project I am sitting on.
What do you guys think?
Should I get it?

Depends of the timing belt as impacted in the accident. Also
3.0 or 3.6 would be sweeter for an N/A motor.

It's a pretty good engine to start with. Certainly worth more than $500 if it's OK. Later SOHC which is nice. Got any pics of the accident damage? Does it run?
