It seems to be numbered correctly for a 914/6 but the location is different that the 6 trans I have (and others I've seen). The number location is more like a 914/4. A later trans where the factory used up some spare 914/4 parts? An easy tell would be to ask if there is an F or GA second gear in that bucket. GA is for a 6. F is for 914/4 gearing.

my ex-Sporto had the number also stamped in at the bottom seam
it was a factory replacement (documented warrenty exchange in 1973)

actually the early -6s have the numbers stamped on the spine

Serial number looks like 7500084.
