Beautiful looking wheel.

Beautiful wheel, but isn't a 914 347 805 10 a leather wrapped 914-4 wheel? If it is, it will take some modifications to fit a 914-6 / 911..

It is an early 914-4 wheel and will fit perfectly on a 914-6 or 911. Just use a 914-6/911 cancel ring instead of the 914-4 plastic hub. It's the same steering wheel apart from the model number stamped on the front.

agree.gif The early 914 steering wheels have the same spline count as the 911 and 914/6.

I have a 914 347 805 11 off a early 72 that still has it's factory leather covering. Slightly checked and dry in a couple of areas (top of the wheel in particular), but usable as is or a great candidate for restoration. Stock 914 horn button (wing) and turn canceling ring. Same spline count as this wheel. Will fit early 914, 914-6. Any interest? PM me if so, I don't troll the classifieds like I used to.

You just need to drill and tap 2 small holes for the 914-6 horn cancel ring. It has the same splines but the later wheels are not a perfect fit for early cars or 911. They fill fit fine, but not the same as an early wheel. The designation on the end - 11 - denotes a slightly different hub.

I didn't say they were the same, just that they had the same spline count. Good info on the canceling ring fitment and the sub-number, thanks. I'll probably just keep this one for another 10 years anyway. wink.gif
