I have a set of installed but unused Weltmeister Delrin Transmission Mounts. I think these have a aluminum lowering block added to them as well.

What is the purpose for the aluminum lowering block (why lowering the rear end of the powertrain)?

Thanks for the free bump.

The PO of my car had created a "custom" (and I use that word loosely) engine mounting bar to lower the engine and used these blocks to lower the tranny. He was trying to lower to CG of the car for racing, or so I was told
