914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ FS Resored Front 15 MM Sway Bar $350 plus shipping

Posted by: bdstone914 May 29 2017, 07:58 AM

Pictures to be added soon.

This is a very clean front sway bar I restored. You need the triangular mounts installed on the car to use this. Not included but available from several sources.
The bar was powder coated semi gloss black. All other sway bar parts were stripped and zinc plated. New stainless steel bolts, nuts, lock washers and added load washers were added to prevent rusting.
Genuine Porsche bushings were replaced in the drop links and sway bar triangular cups.
Not pictured but included are SS bolts, washers, and lock washers that hold the sway bar triangular cups to the body.
These are getting harder to find.
$350 plus shipping. In the U.S. it will cost about $25 to ship.

Nice!!!

That is a great deal! The amount of work needed to clean & prep all those parts, powder coat / re-plate AND the bushings & hardware. Save yourself a ton of time & effort and pick this set up. If I needed it would be all over this.

Very nice Bruce, very nice!

Hi Bruce,

Is the factory 15 mm? Would this be a decent set up for mild street? I was looking to buying a 19mm Tarret.

Yes ,this is a stock bar. The Tarrett bar is great and has adjustability and stiffer settings. Do you have the sway bar mounts on the body and A arms?

Man, what a beauty Bruce. I'll have to find you when and if I decide to take Dad's car back to stock! Nice work! aktion035.gif

I have the tabs and when I put in the gas tank I bought from you a couple of months ago I will be cutting and welding to set up for a sway bar.

I like the adjustability of the Tarret, I worry though that even at the lowest it may be too stiff. Then again, I am running stock 914 torsion bars. I have never dealt with a sway bar on the front of a 914 before so I have no experience with how much it will change the ride.

I would like the car a little stiffer, but I do not wanna go too much because the roads around here suck and I will be driving the car daily.

Thanks

-Andrew

That sway bar is absolutely representative of Bruce's work. All of his stuff is done to that level. Great work and thanks for always making great parts available for our cars. beerchug.gif
