But they are fresh stock. And he is sold out.

Ive bought nos hella rear usa tail light lenses
Right and left perfect condition for 50 bucks

Side marker lenses off a rear ended 914 for 10 bucks

I personally dont care about nos , but 260 + seems like price gouging to me

Posted by: mepstein Jun 23 2017, 08:12 PM

Sometimes you get lucky. My nos rear lenses cost me way more than $50.
I bought a 914 for $1,200 and sold the steering wheel for $1,000. I still have the car. I could probably get another $K for the dash top from a six owner. It's a 36k mile car. That was a good deal.

That's probably because I sent them a message stating what other vendors were selling them for earlier in the day wink.gif

NOS Hella rear lens are going for $400 to $500 each , and No, not a pair. . I remember ads in the Pano back in the 90's for $59 a pair. . Those days a long past, just like a Six for less than $10 grand.

True, there is a set on the local Craigslist at $800 for the pair. They have also been sitting for 3 weeks....supply & demand!

I didn't even hesitate to buy Mark's lenses as soon as I saw the ad. driving.gif

But you are gonna buy to them to

Install on your car ? Right sunglasses.gif

I bought Steven's NOS Euro rear lenses for 600 a couple of months back and jumped on them, those NOS side markers are not out of whack

The point is they are not being made anymore and price is relative. If sticking on a 8k daily ride then, yes probably hard to justify. If going on a freshly restored bee or six that is worth 30 or 80k+ then not

This thread wasn't about any of our members ... it was in reference to an ebay ad

Posted by: somd914 Jun 24 2017, 05:04 AM

And if they sell, good for him - free market and capitalism at work.

Now would I pay those prices? That's another story.

Yep. Going on my 8k daily driver 914 and I'm happy to get 'em.

The ebay seller looks like a real asshat. Looked at some of his other auctions. Trying to sell a Mercedes lug bolt for $62. Says 10 per car needed. Maybe is you only want them on tow wheels. Looks like Pelican price is $3.25 each for the Febi brand. Genuine MB is $6.75. He is in Carson. I bet he is buying from Pelican after he sells parts for those I wonder idiots fall for his schtick ? Euromotive is the company name.

The way it works on eBay is if you run out of an item you are selling, it is easier to jack up the price so no one buys the item instead of cacelling the ad. Once you have more of the item in stock, you lower the price to sell the item.

Posted by: euro911 Jun 25 2017, 12:25 PM

I know some sellers do that, but the Mann air filters were in stock when I saw the ad.

The NOS side marker lights....not overpriced IMHO.

The filter....definitely, but likely something else going on there like a typo or some other logical explanation.

This however, is pretty outrageous:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/914-6-Used-Motor-Mount-ORIGINAL-RARE-PORSCHE-ENGINE-MOUNTING-3-Piece-BRACKETS-/252981308358?hash=item3ae6dc6bc6:g:d0cAAOSwUdlWe0I-&vxp=mtr

Not only is it an overpriced piece of trash, but pretty unusable if you ask me.
The top and bottom sandwich plates are welded together making the rubber mount in between ineffective at best.
Who would buy this?
Even authentic 914-6 owners would come up with a different solution than this.
But here this part is listed week after week on Ebay for more than a year now.
Just Wow!

I paid $160.00 for a new in the box Mohn ski rack off of eBay from HPH. Yes it was a rip off, but I was desperate at the time and paid it. He now wants $259 for a trasher center console deposit box. Morph will make you a new one for $75. The factory ones are cardboard. But once again HPH has the only one on eBay.
