914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ WTB Dual Carbs for 2.0

Posted by: ryancr500 Mar 26 2018, 08:24 AM

I’m looking to buy a good set of used dual carbs for my 74 2.0 914. Car currently has a single carb that isn’t working too well. I would prefer Weber or Dellorto carbs. Set must be complete including intakes. Please let me know if you have anything. Would need to be shipped to Point Roberts,WA 98281

I tried a single progressive carb on a 914 and VW bus with horrible results. Switched to 34ICTs and was very happy with them.

I did see these. Was considering them. Would these perform as well as 40 or 44 idf?

No, but way better than a single carb so it would be a good budget option. I ran them on stock 1.7L engines with stock cams and was satisfied. More reliable than the aging FI they replaced, but not as good of performance although I never bothered to try to tune them and ran jetting that came out out of the box.

Best carbs to run are either 36 or 40 Dellortos. Second choice would be 44 Webers. I would never run 34 ICT's. They are not made for any performance engines out there over 1700 cc's. They are only good for a 1600 beetle engine. They will choke down your 2.0 just as bad as a progressive.
