Take a stock heater flap valve and use a step drill to make you one.

My modified flapper from a four. I used a 1 1/2" hole saw.

Yes, I did that to a new -4 yesterday that was tabbed and welded. IT does seem that the angle for the hose off to the long should be at a slightly different angle, though.

I'm sure you are right about the angle. There are so many six parts that are just slightly different than their corresponding four parts. At least you can make the piece work for you until you find the right one.

I just bolted up 914-4 flappers to my six heat exchangers 20 years ago and never had a problem. I’m using the same 914-4 flappers today with Bens heat exchangers.
