Prices? Rules?
How much for the rear bar?
Sorry for the delay. I've got family that just came into town for an overnighter. I'll be back to answer everyone tomorrow.
Thanks for understanding.
Dibs on rear chassis kit pending price.
Can pick up this week.
Put me in line for the 1.7 stuff. Pending pricing.
Sorry guys. I was just trying to unload some stuff that I didn't need and as you all know one man's trash is another man's treasure, especially in 40+ year old cars. I hadn't spent the time to research all the prices as I'll be honest, I don't have much free time. While yes, under the second bullet point up top of the classifieds it says "please put a price in your ad," it does not say prices must be posted and I figured we could all be adults and go off of my original post, second paragraph "Reasonable offers accepted plus all PayPal and shipping costs." If that's to much I'll try and get prices for everyone.
In the meantime, I am working through my pm's. Sorry for any confusion my post may have caused. I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to move some stuff that I don't need as I know someone out there needs something.
Thanks for everyone looking.
So, the rest of us follow the rules, but your exempt from them? Make an offer, that means you will take the "highest bidder"Yes, it takes time to research and put a fair price, but we do it anyway. I think the section is called rules, not suggestions. If you don't want to play by those rules, there is nothing i can do about it. Good luck with your auction.
Where are the moderators? All of us that have posted and sold items over the years comply because that's what it is asked of us to be a member of this great community ....and then you come along and think you're special. Wow.
He’s got a point in that it does say “guidelines” below where it says rules. Moderators may want to clear up the mixed message.
Speaking of moderators where is Shea? Is he the keeper of the classifieds?
Just assuming since its his fingers all over the Stickies.
Back in town. Hubba hubba. No need for Eric on this one. I might be way off base on this. "Please put a price IN YOUR AD...". I believe this is a AD. I THINK you are be asked to include a price. I dunno. Figure out what you WANT for your stuff. Not what it MIGHT be worth. Like $50 takes it all. I'm pretty sure it MIGHT be worth THAT much. This is not an auction site. Try eBay. You do know you're responsible for shipping quotes, right? Very time consuming.
Mark, I have some 1.7 fi gear. By perusing the classified histories, I think I know what the parts might be worth. Not MY ad so the prices are super top secret.
Lot of ruffled feathers in here. That wasn't my intention.
Relax fellas. It's just a web forum. I guess I'll start looking up prices.
This is not just a forum. This is community. A community I'm proud to be a part of. Thank you for posting prices.
Hmm, not on any ledge. I asked the guy politely to post prices. He declined. After some other members also commented, he said he would. I thanked him. It's over. Move on
I'm out. I was just looking for some back up parts, don't really need these. It does help when you post prices, as to if you have a buyer. At $1 I'm in, not saying your price is not fair, but I really don't need these and was just acquiring a back up.
Do you have a pic of the bra where the tear is? Is it stinky? Do you have a 3/4” braided hose in that box? PM me.
-Big Ed
All PM's returned to and quotes sent. Thanks everyone
As an admin, I have to point out that Kurt was right.
"Please put a price in your ad and state how you would like payment."
Please put prices in the ads when you first post them.
THank You.
I will take BRA...please PM shipping to 90255
Hey Ed Turbo...if you want it, I'll pass.
It would be nice to use when I haul my car on P hauler
Thanks

What about the possibility of a for sale section where price is not required? I am sure there are people who have stuff in their garages/parts hoards that they just don't need or have room for any longer or really have much idea of the value. For each of these people there most likely is a corresponding person who needs said part and has a good idea of what he would pay. Maybe require all correspondence by PM only, so there are no bidding wars? See a part you need offer a price, done. No flames no fights. And the regular for sale/WTB section goes forward without these occasional interruptions. I'm sure there is downside but I'm just not seeing it.
Rec'd bra this morning...thx
Oscar
The forums and rules for those particular forums are designed as they are for a reason. The admin here has spent a lot of time setting up things like they are.
The following is an editorial. Just my opinion:
A seller does not list prices and receives offers by pm. He waits a week and takes the best offer, or he doesn't like any of those offers and people are left wondering. Case in point. There is a year old thread at this time that has gone exactly that way. Original poster has not answered pms, or posts for a year. Doing the transaction completely by pm takes away the ability of admin to keep people on the up and up. I can't see why posting prices is such a huge deal. A quick search of this forum and ebay will give an idea of what something is worth. Want to flame me for accepting the rules? Flame on.
