I've decided not convert. Already sold the 5 lug wheels, so the rest sould go too. Struts, hubs, rotors $300 plus shipping. Parts are in the Denver Colorado metro area. Not too bulky, but a little heavy. Some surface rust on one side of the rotors from sitting in my barn. Will send more pix if you are interested or have someone local look at them.

Reducing price to $275. Also 3" spacing. Had them sold twice but buyer wanted to use Boxster calipers which have 3 1/2" spacing.

Not really sure if it requires bolts or pins. Can you tell me what to look for as I have several peple who have expressed interest. I purchased these about 10 years ago from Eric Shea at PMB and it was never mentioned. I know I told him that I was going to use a set of cookie cutters, but not sure I told him I had a '76.

Look fo a split in the bottom of the strut where the ball joint installs. That indicates pinch bolt type. Here is one with damaged ball joint holes.
On a late car you would need to switch to the early more expensive ball joints.

A tip on shipping. Go to Lowes or home depot and get a 27 gallon storage box for under 10 dollars.
Unless the rotors have no ridge they may not be the cost of shipping.

I used a Rubbermaid tote for these items. iirc 24x15x12. It will all fit with room to spare. I put not so tall pieces of plywood along the bottom of the sides to keep the struts from punching thru. Bubble wrap (@YouHaul) came in handy. I Drilled holes in the top and edges so I could use LOTS zip ties to secure the top. Shipping, 56lbs, from a distribution center ran $37 from Tacoma to NorCal with my FedEx account.

Hard plastic totes are the wrong choice. Great for storage but crappy for shipping. Too fragile.

Thanks for all of the info on the parts and shipping. Really helpful and much appreciated. There is a split on the bottom so definately pinch bolts.

But the struts and hubs will even fit into the slightly smaller tub. 22 gallons I think. Line the box with cardboard and zip tie shut. I don’t usually ship rotors with the parts since they are so heavy and usually worn out.

so just to be clear, any of the 911 struts will work on any of the 914s... the ball joint to be used is the issue - correct ?

..and the stock ball joints used on 914s to mid '72 work with a "pinch bolt" type strut - and those earlier ball joints are more expensive than the later used taper pin ball joint. but one can be switched out for the other - depending which 911 struts you source. Do I have that summed up correctly?

pinch bolt style struts take pinch bolt style ball joints, taper pin struts take taper pin ball joints. You can use your existing A arms for either version The cost of the early ball joints may be a bit higher but it's not much by the time you go 5 lug.

some guys use one inch spacers on the front to fill out the wheel wells on flaired cars when using 7' wheels so include the spacers and longer studs.

I have a bunch of 15" and 16" Fuch wheels here in the Sacramento area if the person buying these parts needs wheels. Some are reproduction and some are originals. Need to clear out some space in my shop.
