Gents, I have sold my race car and am thinning my treasures! This came 14 or so years ago from Roger Sheraton when I purchased 2 race boxes with 901 shafts, etc I have a 914 LSD, which Matt Monson says fits the 914, 1969 mag 901, 70-71 mag and 72-74 915 with 7:31 CWP. It worked like a charm for my vintage Type 4 E Prod. I have not disassembled the unit for inspection. As you can see with pics, I have the flanges and bolts. Not interested in separating at this point. Shipping from DFW area. Prefer local but am willing to work with purchaser. $2500 plus shipping, etc. Thanks old914dog

No responses means I am off on price. $2,000
I would do a little searching on pricing.. There was one that sold recently here..
I would post on the 911 parts for sale on Pelican. You might have better luck there.
You can buy a new aftermarket LSD for $1500.00.
Drive flanges are worth buck, $2k good price.
Parts for rebuilding are available, mostly 928 and 917.
$1950 and a large bottle of Crown!
$1900.00
Food for thought.
I've been watching this post with great interest as I'd like to eventually obtain a LSD.
However, a complete Trans with a Quaife recently sold for not much more than what you are asking.

Quaife has advantage over factory LSD in that it is a helical gear LSD that doesn't require maintenance and/or new plates like factory LSD with friction plates eventually will (especially if raced previously).
I do understand that it is factory LSD which holds some appeal for purists. However, not knowing the condition of the internals is a show stopper for me. Replacement of the friction plates, the metal drive plates, and the springs can quickly add up.
I'll keep watching. I missed out on the the other one, and maybe I'm wrong about the value of this one. I'm still learning the true value of some of these rare 914 parts after having been away for so long.
Problem with a Quafe is that they induce corner entry understeer and they also are not adjustable in any way.
and they do wear
Still pretty neat that these are floating around and glad to see the parts offered up for sale.
I've been trying to track down the part number that seems to be inscribed on these - not matching PET. Don't seem to follow Porsche numbering.
Anyone know what they are?
Going from an open dif to lsd or quaife is an eye-opener the first time you hit the gas in a corner!! A locked or welded dif is another world! First time for me was Road Atlanta with a welded dif in the rain....you have to sling the car, just like a dirt tracker!! After running all 4 difs, I think my best times were with the lsd. Anecdotal, yes...but true for me. Best aide to going fast is more seat time!!! Spend less on "stuff" and practice more and read about chassis setup. Track tire temps, all of it. Just saying!
$1800 and the bottle of Crown is back!
Someone needs to buy this to keep me away from it!
$1600 and a gallon of crown!!
Thanks "teeners!"
Sold, Funded and Delivered.
Whew . . . that was close. Was getting a twitchy trigger finger.
I just couldn't figure out how to price in the gallon of Crown
Thanks to whomever bought it! For me it was one of those parts that I don't really need but really want. It would just divert funds away from something else that I really need given my car is in pieces at the moment.
