I need the metal clamp ring that goes around the rubber shifter boot at rear of car, it oval shaped,t hey sell the replacement rubber but cant find clamp

Tail shift do not use that clamp.

Well has does that platic cover stay on them?
I see you have two 914s that would normally have side-shifter transaxles, although I have seen tail-shifters in late cars (I owned one before converting it back to a side-shift)
It may be to your advantage if you post a pic of your shifting linkage so you get the correct part
