914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ WTB Original front LE spoiler

Posted by: TonyA Nov 14 2019, 12:27 PM

Don't laugh....I know its a long shot, but i am looking for an original in repairable condition front spoiler for a LE car.

Posted by: sholman5 Nov 14 2019, 03:04 PM

So am i. Even if it is broken. The majority of the repops do not fit correctly. Good luck.

They are out there. I managed to find two right here in the classifieds around two years ago and used one on my Bumblebee. The other needs very minor work (bottom edge on a straight area) and paint if you are interested. I was keeping it as a spare but probably needs to go to a good home.

I just bought one from AA. Will let you know how good / bad it is.

I have these two original spoilers, they are rough but very repairable. The real deal. I have seen much worse resurrected to excellent condition by talented 'glass shops. Some mounting tabs are broken, small chunks missing, one has an end that has fractured off, etc. Both are about in the same condition, and require a similar scope of repairs.

If there is interest in these, will consider putting these up on the 'bay to be fair to all. But I need to figure out how get confirmation that these will go to LE owners, no exceptions.

Jeff: I am interested. As you know I have two LE ‘s on the registry. Trying to restore to as original as possible. And I am not a flipper. Hope to keep these in the family and show as much as possible.

I just received the AA version today. Honestly, it's one of the nicest fiberglass pieces I've bought. Unfortunately, it's not what I thought I ordered... I need an opening for the front cooler.

First time posting here so hope I've done this right.
Anyone know which of these is the correct lower spoiler for the 914 LE?

The upper one looks promising. Does it have a part number cast into it?

Bottom one is aftermarket.

I'd guess neither because I don't see the two mold protuberances on the inner edge of the ends in this photo at the upper corners of each but the upper spoiler appears more accurate. Look also for a number stamping near the center of the inside. I think mine are stamped VPC along with the part number.

Jeff,

You know there is interest. Why not just come up with a price you believe is fair and post it here? No way to know who gets it if posted to ebay. At least here, you can choose who to sell it to.

I understand there is a 914LE in NZ. Christchurch, right? If so, I'd heard (Graham Lister) that it had been entered in the several Inter-marque Concours.
I'm also a kiwi. I live in Las Vegas. Originally from Nelson.

I can check a parts car of mine that looks like it may have a factory part.
WE do make the re pops.
I would consider selling if it is correct. I just need to check the back of the part to know for sure.

Yes that is my LE. It won the Porsche Club Of NZ concourse 2 years ago and the Porsche Club Of NZ got 2nd overall in the Ellerslie Concourse with my LE and a 1973 911S Graham and several other club members did lots of pre show cleaning on it.
