I prefer bronze in this application. You need to offer a stainless sleeve to cover up the worn spots on the shift rod to go with it
Just tried to buy one but coupon code doesn't work, entered CYBER, no dice
Tried again. It must not be meant to be. I'd be curious if anybody else has an issue. I tried CYBER. cyber, and CYBER MONDAY. Nope nope and nope. Made sure I didn't have a space in front of it, even tried a space in front of it. I'll try tonight from the laptop.
worked it out
Yes! Tried again and it worked. Rich sent me a message as well telling me he'd make it work one way or another. Thanks Rich, for being on top of it.
Rich, do you just have this one, or do you have more in stock?
It worked a day or two ago, but I never followed through with completing the order. Attempted to check out today and the discount disappeared and replaced with "The coupon code is expired"
No worries, It was a MONDAY sale but I extended the coupon to weeks end!
Put me down for one!
thanks!
Rich, I’ll take one as well.
I'll take one Rich.
Is this for the bushing on the firewall? Sorry if I am being dense.
BTW - your box arrived in good order and everything was well packaged, thank you.
No this is a replacement for the plastic bush in the shift console on side shifter trans.
Good to hear!
OK - so under the shifter then?

Order placed, thanks Rich.
Rich I will take one of these!
We just installed one of Rich's bushings in my car about 2 weeks ago- works great.
I recently installed this kit and will never run without again, ever.
Thanks for the great, precision parts
Good seller too
Installed (flange inside)
Thank you for the installed pics!
I didnt make one of my 1 page install sheets for these perhaps I should.
@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=453 Rich, a quick testimonial here ... I had my trans rebuild by Dr. Evil and while everything was all apart I had your bronze side-shift console bushing installed as well as brass shift coupler bushings. The shifting is phenomenal now - all slop gone, super notchy, and tight. I never thought we could get the shifting this clean.
THANK YOU!
In case anyone is interested, here's the link to the shift couplers I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144163422647
Does anyone know of a source for brass bushings for the shifter rod as it passes through the firewall and then into the coupler box at the tranny (side shift)? I'm pretty unimpressed with the plastic replacements from 914rubber and pelican. I hadn't yet thought about the bushing under the shifter in the cockpit; was focused first on all the play in the rod as it traverses the firewall and side shift box.....
Not sure I am understanding which bush(s) you are after?
The one offered in this thread replaces the castellated nylon one in the "shift console".
Order placed….thank you for making these available.
I've got a tip no one has mentioned.
That puppy is a "sintered" bushing, and they all say "self lubricated".
The Datsun Z uses one of these bushings as the pilot bushing for the clutch.
If you put one in "as made" it will die quickly. The lubricant that is in the bushing is not enough...
The way to better lubricate the bushing is as follows:
Place bushing on thumb and fill the interior of the bushing with the oil of your choice.
Fill it completely full and then with your other thumb over the other end of the bushing create hydraulic pressure. Don't press hard as I have split one showing this trick to another tech.
With mild pressure you will see the oil "weep" through the bushing. The sides of the bushing will go wet!
It looks like "special effects" when you do it.
Now the bushing is properly lubricated...
Probably won't matter much in this application but in a pilot bearing application it's a requirement.
This bushing looks great.
I will order one for my car.
Thank you for making these!
