914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ Sale Cancelled: Raby 2270 Engine

Posted by: 9144me2enjoy Jan 4 2020, 03:27 PM

Note: Sale Cancelled! Talked to a Porsche mechanic friend of mine who has convinced me to hang on to the Raby engine and continue building with what I have. He had a 86 911 3.2 that I drove that was nice but I like my 914 better with the 2270 engine. From my position it wouldn’t be worth the conversion! In stock form 3.2L 200hp/185lb Torque and the Raby 2270 engine 170hp/175lb Torque. Too many variables don’t add up in this particular scenario. Thanks again

Great looking engine! I am building pretty much the same. Wish this was available before I started my build.

Any chance you could provide the maps for your 123Ignition?

We ended up setting the Centrifugal Curve at
1400 RPMS 7.0 degrees.
2300 at 14.6 degrees
3500 at 23.4 degrees,
5000 at 29.0 degrees
8000 at 29.0 degrees.

The Map Curve is irrelevant on this particular carb setup, no Vacuum lines.
