914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ FS FS Replated late type striker plates- $50 a pair shipped

Posted by: bdstone914 May 1 2020, 08:43 PM

Edit : Two pair left

I have this new batch of plated late striker plates. I did more polishing on this batch and they look better. Includes 8 new SS attachment screws. They fit all years. The early striker plates did not have the flange in back of the post. The flange was added when they went to reinforced doors. It appears to be a safety feature by preventing the door from being crushed past the striker.
Will fit all years.

I’ll take 5 sets.

I bought one set on the last go around and could use another but I have a question. Why are some straight on the sides and others have a curve in them? Different years?

Also, I purchased new rubber "bumpers" for the top part. How does one press them in?

There are at least five different suppliers of these. Taga, Bum , Bromoro, Keifer, VW.
Just a variation of design. They have the same part number.
