914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ FS: Leather original steering wheel-1972 date code

nice condition not rusty, original leather wrap,
can use as-is or over wrap or remove and re wrap.
no horn button $250 OR with the batwing horn $350.
+ shipping CONUS- should be no more than $25

wear is not bad at all, amazing for the age. leather is firm and has slight indentation due to someone putting a tight over wrap on it.

the last picture shows the horn button but is of a different wheel

Phil,
That is an interesting wheel. It is said that only the 70 and 71 914 wheels fit the 914-6 and 911. But your wheel has the hole for the plunger for the horn contact (early ) and the recess on the back of the spline (late).

does that make of rare or unusual? seem from reading the link you posted that the 72 wheels would have had that flange but not horn canceling button ? would it possibly be a weird combo or made for a later /6 from ‘72? i also thought most 914 wheels were not leather. will have to do some more research and comparisons

thanks Bruce for pointing out the differences

Phil

Looks like a normal mid year wheel to me.
