The filter housing itself does look like the one on my old 914 ('73 1.7). However, it is missing the plastic snorkel (don't think the snorkel is really necessary).

Also, the rubber hose coming from the filter housing is wrong for a 914 1.7. 914Rubber sells the correct hoses (and I have a couple left over, as well).
