It looks like I have bought the wrong ones, mine are domed and dont fit the new rubber top I have bought for my steel bumper

Those would be for the 75-76 rubber bumper. Also for 74-on 911's

Sounds like you got the ones for 75-76 914 and early 911.
Maybe sell them to a local 911 owner.
