914World.com _ FS/WTB: 914 Parts _ want to buy, fan screen

Posted by: jkb081 Jan 4 2022, 10:16 PM

looking to buy plastic engine cooling fan guard.i notice a lot of engines do not have them. when I purchased my car, the engine bay was full of leaves. I'm guessing there are leaves stuck under the tins as well because this part is missing. funny thing is, the Hayes manual does not list/show this part. I have only seen it on VW Type 2 buses with Type 4 motors.

It came on VW’s but never was stock on 914’s.

Can I assume that it will fit. A Type 4 is a Type 4. Only issue might be clearance at engine tin. Please advise. Thanks

Is there no old VW accessory shops in San Fransisco any more? Those places usually carry that sort of thing.

unfortunately, no. only Tassi VW repair in Colma, and Buslab in Berkeley. Not sure if Viking Auto Parts in Novato is still in business. Tassi is probably my best bet. Cant wait for this Chinese Corona virus business to be over so we can start having swap meets again. Really miss going to VW and Porsche car shows.
