Hey welcome. I followed the bidding on BaT, got pretty crazy at the end. Could tell you really wanted it. Cheers

Thanks Narp,
Yeah she’s a keeper..
If I was retired I’d put this 1.7 on an engine stand with a starter and do a compression test.
I am confident owner who did all the PMB work took great care of this 1.7 also

Obligatory welcome back bump!!

Talked to PO who pulled engine and he said it ran strong, but fuel injection was wonky

If this is the car I think it is then im the guy that pulled this motor before the car went to PMB for the full resto. Local friend of mine was the one that had all the work done.

It ran great when it came out, owner just wanted more power. To be accurate though that was ~9 years ago it last ran 2/1/2014 to be exact (wow cant believe its been that long) Bummer you are separating it, as far as we could tell that was the numbers matching engine to the car.

Also always thought that build looked better with steelies (which were PMB refurbished). The owners intention was always to keep it a sleeper.

Amazing deal. If I was closer I wouldn't hesitate to take all these off your hands.

More info on the fuel injection issue. The MPS diaphragm had blown. With a replacement MPS (which is currently in my 1.7) that was used to drive it to my place it ran great.
