73 ECU's are the same for a 2.0 and a 1.7L so nothing special

does the ECU for a '73 2.0 differ in anyway to a '75 2.0? I know the MPS are different and the distributor is slightly different as well as the 2vs 1 vac/retard lines from the throttle bodies, but is the ECU interchangable or would you have to then swap out the MPS to match the ECU?

Yes, they are different. The 73 is basically a 1.7 ECU that they used a different CHT 017 and MPS 037 t0 make it work on a 2.0L since Porsche didn't have the time to get Bosch to make a new 2.0L ECU. 1974 044 is the. new unit, then for emission the 75 052 unit came out.
So on a 73 2.0l engine to make a 75 052 ECU work you would have to also use a 012 CHT and a 043 MPS.
