Found this on fleabay by accident.
Apparently being made as a couple of vendors have it.
Ahhh, the hundred dollar coat hanger...
Slight hijack, but has anyone used the /6 conversion throttle cable from PMS? about $150, but looks like the EZ button
I hit the same easy button.
Does the PMS unit replace the need for the rod and bellcrank? Not sure if I understand how it's routed and hooks up.
ASking as my 914/4 had carbs and just had a throttle cable that routed into the engine bay and mounted a tab to the engine case to the cross-bar linkage.
I did it on mine as well.
It hooks to the trans with one bracket then extends through the engine metal to connect to your dual carb linkage off the manifolds. I guess you could also hook into the stock throttle plate if using a CIS engine.
Short answer: yes does replace the rod and bell crank.
So glad someone asked the “dumb” question and I also understand how the PMS part works.
Wanted this for my real six restoration…..but have a couple original ones to sell.
Are they worth $65 plus shipping?

Any links to the PMS part? I have trouble finding things on that site sometimes. My car came with a 6, all the 911 stuff missing for the throttle. Kind of a kludge in place but it works. Like to get something more repeatable and reliable.
@OP - $65 seems fine. I'd even take $65 shipped for the one I have laying around.
Here is the link for the PMS one, replace that worn out throttle cable too.

Way off topic for a FS ad, but does anyone have pics of the PMS part installed? I am missing most of the stock 911 accel cable parts so I am not sure what I would need to use it.
Kind of on topic. With the original coat hanger setup, if the throttle sticks your carbs still close. With the cable going to carb cross bar and the throttle sticks, carbs stay open. That is a safety feature I think is important.
I could use another coat hanger for a spare. I just cant tell 914-6 from 911 difference, length maybe.
Matt
I'm not sure I follow. How does the original setup prevent the carbs from sticking? If the carbs are stuck open with either application the pedal will just stay on the floor. The only spring tension is that on the throttles and the shafts.
