I have a few sets of these ready, and can do up a few more if there is interest.

This is a great way to spruce up the bottom side when you do a valve adjust.

Comes with, 2 freshly powder coated valve covers, 914Rubber thicker cork seals, 8 old school heavy wall push rod tubes with the dimple to help seat them , and 914arubber Viton seals. 8 tubes that are polished.

I would like to sell on an exchange basis, but want to assure I get cores back.

I think that type of pushrod tube was used up to 73 in 1.7L engines.
They went to the later smaller diameter push rods. Possibly due to the larger exhaust tubes on 2.0 and 1.8 engines. I have sold many sets of these thinking there was no functially difference.
Has anyone used the larger diameter tubes on a 2.0 or 1.8 and if so were the push rod tubes touching the exhaust tubes?

I have used on 2.0 heads as well as the 1.7. Assuming 1.8 would be the same???

The tubes will fit all heads except the cery earlt 1.7 heads which have a smaller opening for the tube and use a different size o ring. The heat exchangers for 1.7 are smaller diameter than 1 8 and 2.0. The possible issue is clearance from the push rod tube to the exhaust tube. 2.0 and 1 7-1.8 SSI exchangers have the same size id tubes. nit sure if their OD is the same as stock exchangers as the tube wall is thinner.

Tube wall on these is definitely thicker. It's one of the features I like about these. No problems on my 1.7 or 2.0. You don't have to be as careful with them, worrying about crushing them, when you grab them to force into the heads and block.

Just curious on the push rod tubes, was there a coating or plating (like silver Zinc) on these from the factory to stop rust forming? If they are polished, they would plate well

Factory finish was yellow cad or zinc.

They usually leak enough oil to prevent rust.

These were polished only. So the silver zinc has a coat of wax on them.

I have seen oem tubes hammered for clearance, apparently to get a socket/extension on the exh port studs(which is real tight space to start with on certain cyls). Not sure if there was a part mismatch involved or just some idiot working on it...

Yes that is correct net is 111.20 shipped domestically USPS.

These have been hanging around awhile, I'd drop it to $100 (after cores recieved).
