Have you noticed how your stock side mirrors do not sit horizontal? Here is a photo of my right side mirror, taken with the camera set horizontal and the mirror straight out from the door. Notice how the mirror center tilts downward to the outside.
The fix is a 4° wedge-shaped gasket that replaces the stock gasket. My son will 3D print these on demand from TPU, with 95A hardness, so they are somewhat flexible and enough squish to conform to the slight curve at the top of the door. The price is $15 per pair, shipped to anywhere in the US. You can order them through this PayPal listing:

I can answer any questions here, or via personal message.

I looked up TPU resistance to UV light and found thei.
UV Resistance: Neither TPU nor TPC offer inherent UV protection, similar to PETG and PLA. However, TPU exhibits slightly better resistance to UV degradation compared to TPC. PP shines in this aspect, boasting significant UV resistance, making it ideal for prolonged outdoor applications.Feb 20, 2024
Maybe a coating could prevent yellowing ?
Order placed. Thanks!
Spray painting them before installing should give the needed UV resistance. At least, I hope....
Order placed. Thanks!
order placed...thanks. And thanks agian for the help withthe dubshop FI system. She is running well. Cold starting is the only issue.
Interesting idea. Hmm might be interested
PP = polypropylene
I think these are a great idea. The thing that bugs me the most it the pattern that 3d printing gets on the surface. I guess a person could just sand out with a few grits or they could be run in a larger batch in a vibratory finished like I use on small acrylic cubes.
I am on board to get a pair and will place an order for one set for #41 now
Thanks Bob B
Paypal none thank you
2 sets ordered. You should make it so the amount is not preloaded at 1 set.. I had to order twice.... cool idea.
Just ordered a set. I was going to order more, but could not change the quantity. Once these arrive and I install them, I will likely order 2 additional sets.
Thanks, everyone. I did not consider the UV resistance (I will ask my son what he knows). But since only the edge is exposed, I hope any problems will be minimal. Same with the 3D printing pattern with this format printer and material. Here's a photo of the left mirror on my car (still dirty).

Looking forward to these - nicely done!
The drup matches my back
Re: UV resistance,
You can always coat in UV resistant ceramic coating
and do your whole car while doing so...

Ordered : )
I need 3 for drivers side only. Let me know how much and I'll PayPal. Shipping to 97330. Thanks, -Scott
Any idea when you will mail these out????
My son Harry went into production mode today. He decided to order a smooth printing plate. This makes the wedge base equally smooth where it contacts paint. The photo show the prototype on the left and the new result on the right. Note that the surface that contacts the mirror base still has printing texture.
He should mail out the first batch on Monday.

Looks like a great idea. Just ordered a set.
How do I order five sets? The PP UI doesn’t seem to allow changing the qty ordered.
I bought one set for now…. Or should I just hit the link four more times?
Another update: so far Harry has printed about half of the ordered wedges, and will send them out tomorrow (I think via USPS).

Just ordered a set. Yes, fix the quantity button on PayPal. Need another set.
Harry shipped the first batch Monday, and more will go out Friday.
I doubt he will change the PP UI, so if you want multiple sets please submit multiple orders.
Just got my pair in US Mail today 1-16-25. Very nice!
Thank you,
Best Bob B
Got mine!! Very cool. Will install a set tomorrow!!!
Mine arrived yesterday, and I installed them this afternoon. Nice parts, went right in without any issue, and now my mirrors don't droop so much -- a nice improvement.
Glad first impressions are positive.
Here is the batch Harry mailed out yesterday.

Got mine! Thx.
Received mine today. Great Product! Thank you. I'll be ordering a second set for the other 914
I just installed mine , looks much better being level . What a great idea.
Thanks Harrison .
Received mine and installed them; great fit and really a big improvement in appearance. Bob, please thank your son for helping us all out. The "droop" always bugged me.
Thanks for the motivation on this. Just added a passenger side mirror. Wow! It will never have to droop!
Reviving this thread.
Are these still available?
If not, anyone have a few to sell or an alternate source?
Thanks!
I would also be interested in a set.
I'd be interested in enough to do 4 mirrors. 2 drivers and 2 pass.
I don't think I bought these the first time around, I'm down for a set if you make another run.
@http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=23343 - did you speak with your son on doing another run? Seems like the demand is there. If so, put me down for 3 sets. I'll gift the extras sets to my local 914 buddies.
Christmas is right around the corner, you know!
I would also be interested in 1 set
