One of our recent new members, smg914, real name Steve Gaglione stopped by today. He was driving his very original -6. It has something like '60k on it and he has owned it for 26 years. Have a look...

The color of the car paint is perfect. It's the camera color that is a little off. Have a look at this battery tray. Makes you sick...

VegasRacer,
My 25 years were VERY hard on my car.
Steve's 26 years were spent... well they weren't spent at all.
Steve as you can see is in to originallity.
Me, well you know what I'm to.
Paul
Hey Paul, it was great spending the afternoon with you talking about 914 stuff. Also thanks for posting the pictures of my 914 collection.
Yes my fellow 914 fanatics, if you look up the word "purest" in the dictionary, you will see my name and face. My mentor when I was very young was that way and it must have rubbed off on me. I'm just a stickler for originality. Even with my race car. There are only a few things that get me more excited than NOS 914 parts. Sick huh?
I got my first 914 when I was 19 years old. I actually ordered it from the dealership in my old home town in Newton, NJ. I ordered a 1973 2 Liter in Phoenix Red. I'll never forget the day the salesman called me to tell me the car was in and ready for me to pick it up. One day of my life I will never forget. I drove the car everyday. Did driver's ed's at Lime Rock, Pocono and Watkins Glen and Autocrosses. I put 110,000 miles on it and sold it for what I paid for it 6 years later and bought the 914-6 that I still have today.
I will always own a 914..........
Amazing cars! Beautiful and perfect - a great combination!
Would love to have a chance to see them the next time I go to Florida. We vacation in Anna Maria Island 1-2 times a year. We use to live there. Sometimes i reeeallly miss living there!
Doug,
Even though my wife and I live in Florida, we still go to Anna Maria Island a couple times a year. We stay at the Harrington House bed and breakfast. In fact we have reservations for June 5 and 6. I need to break the news to my wife that we will be racing at Barber Motersports Park that weedend. Let me know when your going to be on the island again, maybe we can hook up.
Steve
Really nice! thanks for sharing!
I think those pictures are making me physically ill...
No, wait... It's just envy!!!

You know Steve's a nice guy and all, and he has three sweet 914s. But I let him sit in my car, did he let me sit in his, or go for a ride, or even drive it?
No, No,
and No.
Can't blame him. We're pretty much at the opposite ends of the 914 originality spectrum.
We talked about orgainizing a serious southeastern 914 get together maybe next year. Stay tuned for details.
Paul
Hey Paul, how 'bout starting with a 9:14 Breakfast? They are all over the place now...
San Jose, Seattle, Portland, Northern Virginia, Ohio...who did I forget to mention?
Will South Florida be next? Just post a place, date and time and see who shows up.
Jeff,
Good idea, 9:14 breakfast in Tampa.
I'll find a place. (close to my house).
Paul
I like that idea of a breakfast somewhere in the Tampa Bay area for 914 owners at some central location. This could give us the enthusiasm to organize something bigger once we see how many people attend.
We could easily get 12+.
