Not exactly modernized, but look up ahdoman's interior on the Brown Turd....very nice. A search will turn up a few recent interior threads.

mine is still coming along. I am having my seats recovered as we speak via Mom Evil, and I have other improvements I want to make over the winter.

Guessing you've seen this before, but here is a example of a hand stiched leather interior (not radical but still custom). Is it "modern" - no, but it's more important to reflect what you like in your car.
(does this make me a picture hog happy11.gif )

I know there's pictures (or youtube) out there somewhere of someone who changed their whole interior into a jet-fighter cockpit - gotta admire the manhours they spent on that!

Big pictures of my dash here: http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/albuo53
(yes - dusty when I took the pics).

A lot different than when I thought I would do a "bumblebee" with all black and yellow. My how I've aged... slits.gif

I like tan too, there is a lot of leeway to make the interior the way you like it.

All very nice beerchug.gif

Who did your leather work ?

Is there a modern update for the AC ?

Thanks

Thanks for the compliment Eric. Here's mine. The ticket to save money on any upholstery is a boat shop. Right about now their business is dropping off for the season. That's how I got mine done. My complete dash (upper and lower) and backpad ran me $550. My wife did the door panels, I did the carpet. The center console is painted with a color matched vinyl paint. Oh, and it's all done in "Corinthian Leather" (vinyl).

It takes a brave man to use the old 928 upholstery cloth, but it's very appropriate in this case. Nice touch!

I seem to remember that there was a blue car in an old picture of 914s lined up around a circular sculpture. It appeared to have a light grey interior that also seemed to look nice with the blue exterior. Does anyone have any pics of that car?

Thank you - it was done by a (retired, now passed on) gentleman in AZ. He did interiors for Mercedes.

I love that black/grey interior - it would look awesome in a grey car (or dark blue) !

If you are into the 80s mine isn't bad. It's a pleasing pattern.Attached Image

This was back when I bought it, it's a bit cleaner now.

It is not my car but the interior of @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=7414 is stunning. Check out the thread on dashboards, page 4 for a picture of @http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showuser=7414 interior.

i live in a parallel universe down here in north antarctica. mirrored and inverted.
you get used to it. customization? hard enough reproducing everything back to front and wrong way up without thinking about how to go beyond. biggrin.gif beer.gif
