If your headlights sit crooked, it may just need adjustment on the outboard and
inboard support tube brackets. The major reason is if there is movement in the assembly when driving, causing "jittering headlights."
When your headlights are up, and your grab the upper edge and can feel movement, the bushings on the push rod are worn, and/or the pivot pin is loose or bushings are funky. I replaced everything in mine to remove all play in the system.
Remember that the acetal resin bushings in your car are 30+ years old.
The new pivot pins have a larger thread and boss than the original pivot pin. If the pivot pin has or had loosened, the failure mode is that the area of the thread relief cracks or fails and that light would not sit flush, and when up have a lot of play.
