Thanks for the tip on the website. Looking at this photo I cringe. I hate it when they put those funky aux lights in the bodywork. They did the same on some of the 911 rallye cars and it looks just as bad.

I started to say, 'yeah they should've put them in the bumper', but looking
at the picture closer, it looks like they already have 4 rectangular lites in the
front bumper.

like the Motorsports division would listen to my dumbass anyways laugh.gif

Great site.

I opened up the site and I saw an Abarth Porsche. Does anyone have the history on that? I thought Carlos Abarth was a Fiat guy???

I believe those are just the holes behind the bumper for oil cooler air-flow. Great picture though!

You must remember that they were more interested in function over form. The higher mounted lights allow more light to be reflected back to the driver who can then see more clearly were he is going.

There were several Abarth cars built. They are very cool and have the "signature" dual-bubble roof.

Note that the web site above has a major faux paus; the Abarth Carrera was a 356 not a 911 (duh!)

Here's some more info that Goggle turned up.

If you have Excellence was Expected, I'm sure there is a section on the Abarth cars in there (I am still in the first 150 pages now 3 months after xmas)

Hey, I just realized that is actually an Audi RS6 site...currently one of my favorite cars on the planet (in the "practical daily driver" category at least).

Check out this torque curve:

Thanks for that link! Very interesting. Porsche terminated the contract with the Italians on a very successful car due to poor build quality.

The local guy that was originally going to do the bodywork/rust repair on my car has a 356 Carrera Abarth. He's been hand building replacement panels for it for quite a long time now. It's just a shell so far. But it's coming along.

But that's all I know about it at the moment.
