Just tried to post a couple of links in a reply.
They appear as text and not actual links to the websites.
How do you insert a link?
I just copy and paste (From my browser it always works), some make it fancy with a bit of code, I forget how to do that.
here's a test: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=102096
Here's what I was taught. Go to the site you want to "copy". Highlight the address, it will be in blue, press control (ctrl) and "C" (copy) at the same time.....then go to where you want to post it and press control and "V" and it should come up. Make sure when you "paste" it that there is a space after the last thing you typed in or on a line by itself. Hope this helps......
Ok, now lets get fancy (I do what Mark and jt914 said), but how do you turn the link into a word in the text which serves as a link. Example: people who know more than I about computers tell me to go "here" and when I click on here it is the link.
Someone tell me how to do that please.
Go to "Add Reply", not "Fast Reply". Look for the link icon and follow the directions. It's pretty simple.
If you don't know which icon it is, it is the one with the chain "link" as the picture of the icon. Usually hovering over an icon will pop up some text to describe the icon. The link icon has pop up text "Add Link".
Go to the website you want to link to, and copy the URL (web address) starting with http.
When you're typing a reply, type the text string that you want to make into a hyperlink. (You can really type your whole reply and go back to insert the hyperlinks when you're done typing.)
Highlight the words that you want to turn into a link. Then click the button that looks like this:
You'll get a pop-up window that asks for the Web address. Paste (CTRL+V) the web address that you copied earlier. Click OK.
That automatically inserts the HTML tags to make your text into a link.
In this example, I want http://www.google.com to be my link.
OK. Let's see now.

Hey!! It actually worked. Thanks
If Elliot can do it... JK El
Thanks for the reminder. I always forget to check woot. And I've gotten some cool junk from 'em.
