914World.com _ 914World Garage _ I need a piece of bodywork

Posted by: Racer Chris Mar 22 2004, 08:02 AM

The left rear corner of my car got pretty wrinkled in my crash last Sept.
I am looking for a bit of sheet metal off a parts car if anyone can help.
What I want is about the last 6" of the quarter panel, going around the corner to include about 6" of the rear panel as well. I can put up a picture if more detail is required.
Thanks in advance.

Chris,

I may have that in my outbuilding right now. Post a pic of what you need. Add extra.

I don't really want to straighten out this piece and weld it back in.
It's worse than it looks. I already spent an hour just getting it to look more or less like it belongs there.

Tim,
I never heard anything. Apparently we don't know anyone in common I guess.

Chris - Here's a shot of the piece I've got, it has a few rust holes where the tail light sits.

That would work Ed, unless Carlos has a piece with no rust.
Carlos?

Hi,

That looks better than mine. I would need to send you two pieces. They may not be correctly cut. (My first surgery).

Thanks for checking Carlos.
Ed, when can I come up to get that piece? Sometime this weekend maybe?

Posted by: ejm Mar 23 2004, 07:36 PM

Chris - I'm not sure yet of my plans for this weekend. Springfield's about the same drive for you, I'll toss it in the back of my car if you want to come up to the shop.
Anytime tomorrow or Friday, Thursday I'm leaving at 2. Look for a PM with my cell #

Posted by: Racer Chris Mar 24 2004, 06:22 AM

Thanks Ed,
I'll try to get it from you at work. I got your cell #.

Chris,
I have two parts cars with valid rear clips if you still need some metal.
