All you southern guys are stealing my snow this weekend!
Fuchin' jerks!
If its going to be this butt ass cold, least I could get is some snow to play in, and you rednecks are hogging it all up.
Zach
I for one don't want it because I have a very important court date Monday about visitation w/ my kids.
They can have it. I need to make a run to the dump, and do some dog sitting this weekend. Both of these tasks are a lot easier without the complication of precipitation.
We had a high in the 60s yesterday. It was a great day for a topless drive. Now tomorrow we are suppose to have a high of 25 with snow. How am I suppose to work on the teener in that? I'd be happy to give you your snow back just find me my warm weather.
If we get any, I'll send it back to you.
By all means take it back... NOW! My kids are delighted however since we don't have a good snow-removal infrasructure.
Still it's the only time I can teach them how to drive in it safely. You know... parking lot skid-pad lessons!!!!
Keep that nasty white crap up north where it belongs. We sure as hell don't want it here.
Yep.. Looks like I'll be driving the Pinzgauer home tonight! Thank god for locking diffs!
Calling for 5 inches here.
Very nice Zach. I had NO IDEA that you were so prejudice!!!
At least our 914s don't rust down here, our women are more beautiful and polite, and we have the longest driving season and the best roads.
And if we had a few more supplies a few years ago, you, today, would be living in the good ol' CSA!
Snow wimps....oh, a little snow, whaaaa!
I would be more than elated to share the 4' we got. I spent two days shoveling.

Longest driving season my ass
Drove mine to work the last couple days. Only guys that have it even better are the So. Cal softy's.
I brought my cross country skis home from the shop today.
So we won't get much.
Snow? What's snow?
They were wrong again... We have nothing.
Now THAT'S snow................
Nothing but a sheet of ice in Memphis this AM....
6 inches of snow here plus lots of sleet
It started around 11:15 here in western Maryland. It's cold so it should be powdery and easy to blow off my car. I love having compressed air.
we've basically got about an inch and a half of sleet......sorta looks like snow. It's 28 out and not supposed to go higher than that. Temp should plummet tonight. Going to be one nice sheet of ice. I've got all my home improvement supplies so it's nothing but honey do list this weekend.
Mike
Had 7" by 10:00 this morning. Probable near 10-12' by now and still going

Fuchin snow!!!!!! Messed up a court date I really wanted/needed to have tomorrow.
I was driving home today on Rt 15 after picking up a tranny from Dr. Evil. Noticed that the snow accumulated right about where the Mason-Dixon is. I guess the South will never forget.
Freezing rain and snow tonight. MAYBE 1-2". They're also currently calling for another major storm this coming weekend. Early predictions for this friday and saturday are anywhere from 10-20" Party on Wayne....party on Garth
I can see Al Gore sitting in a corner rocking back and forth crying right about ritght now
Are you happy now Zach
My brakes were mere suggestions last night on the way home. I slid right through a red light at an intersection doing 10-20mph (in a 50) right in front of a cop. I didnt get pulled over.
My uniwiper motor on the 300te went up about 9pm last night as it was comming down heavy on I83. It was a looonng ride home last night. I smelled the motor burning from inside the cabin.
I already orderd another one from flaps 100bucks.
I miss my 2 wiper 914
I had a friend who owned a '72 MGB. It had 3 wipers.
The best biggest difference in FL. and Ca. is concealed carry and rain totals.
We're looking at 6" of combined ice, sleet, and snow now
Ohh, my town is right on the line. If the storm tracks north just a tad, we'll have 2 feet. If it stays south just a tad, we will only get 7 inches.
C'mon! Gimmie lots of snow!
Zach

Ken, I don't like you any more!
Zach
Dude.
If I wanted to look at several feet of snow for months at a time, I would live in Minnesota or Alaska or some place where they know how to deal with it. As it is, all it does for me is provide an excuse to set up some new hardware and to watch movies with my friends across the street.
But hey, I bet you could bunk with Scotty for the weekend. Tell him I sent you.
Look what you did Zach....
25-30 inches expected in the next 24 hours here in baltimore. With possibly more than 30 inches in some areas. The governer declared emergency and has 100 military humvees and ambus ready to go. all gov offices are shut down and only the Karmic connection remains open
careful what you wish for
I'm ready for the
WINTER STORM
(be careful driving home Joe)
Hey Guys,
We get snow in Florida too, the only difference is your snow comes from Canada, ours comes from Columbia
Your forecast is for 1-2" at this time. But there's time for you to come to NoVa for the 16-24" forecast My poor dog is only a foot tall, how's she gonna poop?
Yer dog's gonna die....
Seriously, I had the same problem when I lived in Northern Maine. Dog usually went in the shoveled areas as the snow was over my head at times.
Never forget when I put her on the snow crust at 30 below to do her thing. Poor thing's paws broke through the crust and her unprotected belly landed on the snow....
All four paws kicked into overdrive, but she was unable to get traction in the powder below. Thee poor hound went nowhere....
The look on her face...
Zach, sounds like you're getting your wish.
My brother just told me over an inch/hour of snowfall right now.
Mike
Are you happy now? I am going to have to dig the bus out to install the engine
Not going anywhere today...
very pleased, yes. between 26 and 23 inches, depending on where I measured. Over 4 feet in some of the drifts.
A good bit of the drive is already plowed out, and the streets around me are passable. But, there is a 4 foot snowdrift between me and the bus, that I have not even attempted to move yet.
I am thinking about turning on the 70KBTU heater against the drift and waiting to see how fast it can melt a path through it. Whatever I do, I am waiting for the wind to die down. VERY windy!
I asked Noel to take a pic of me shoveling out our street. I was board, and looked forward to the exercise. She did not get the whole pic, only about half of it. I shoveled out about 100yds + around my car and the walk way. We got a solid 24" here.

Cute angel.
My wife Katherine is so smart!. Thought to ask our neighbors if we couldl borrow their snow blower since they would be out of town over the weekend. I ran the darned thing 6 hours today clearing our driveway and the neighbors too.
We had just shy of 30". Zach, can you stop wishing for snow now?
I am content. For now.
I am looking forward to sledding the monster hill tomorrow.
Zach
Thanks Zach,
Spent the whole day, playing in the snow/ shoveling/ snowball fight/ shoveling/ climbing trees/ shoveling/ building real igloos (how cool is that)/ oh yeah i shoveled some more. I had a lot of fun, but now i am back at work in baltimore
a few pics of my oldest daughter in the mega igloo...
Attached image(s)
Where is Sasha, Joe?
Oh ya, a word of caution. Dont let her play in the igloo unattended. I heard tale recently of a kid that build a tunnel in a snow bank only to have it cave in on her and suffocate her.
Sasha is like Jody, two step outside and that was enough.
It was just me and Lila all day. Yes i also thought about the "cave in" and structured it just so, in case it caved in we would have an escape.
I would never leave either of my kids unatended. That was never an option
I figured. You suck with cars, but your good with your kids Lila is such a cutie. I showed Noel and she got all gushy
just for Noel,

Work is closed tomorrow again in Baltimore. Nowhere to park for the teaching staff and administration. I always LOL at this whenever someone started touting how great it is to have a "pedestrian campus." Back when we had on campus parking, we never had these problems.
Soo we are off tomorrow. And probably Wednesday too if the next storm is as powerful as it is reported to be. another foot? maybe more? Bring it on!
Zach
Mabey if the Admins would lock this thread ......
.....the snow might stop
Weather . com just upped it to 20inches more for tommorow, on top of the 27 inches i just shovled
Where is Zach!?
I just read on weatherchannel.com ... calling for 10 to 20 inches Tuesday thru Wednesday. Who was it that was wishing for snow??????
Not all was good in snowyland...
I was cooking Sat. night and looked out the back window.
I coud see lots of red lights between the houses behind me....
Went on the deck and...
Holy Crap!
One of our neighbors house was on fire...
Stealth firemen. They drove up without sirens, and worked quietly.

Typically Winter Snow fall in Northern U.P.(Upper Peninsula) Michigan is about 300" average. Anyone who dies during the winter months stays on ice till they bury them in July.

Now THAT is snow. But, you are ready for it. You know its going to be there. In the MidA we seem to be blissfully ignorant that snow happens and no one is prepped when it does.
Still, I'd love to see big snow like whats pictured above. Thats just incredible.
Zach
Here we go again. Just started in Silver Spring ......
Here too!
Just heard from Loyola that we are closed for the rest of the week. Woot!
Zach
is this ?
Not in Hershey, yet.
If it gets too bad, I can show you all where Zach lives and we can beat his ass
Crap,
As much as last time. I'm losing rails on my split rail fence.
Ken
Zach, I sure hope you got to sled on that hill you mentioned after Saturday's storm. Next time, please keep you mouth shut about the weather.
No one but stoopid weather commentators out in this stuff....
Well, so far we got two 6 inch dumps and I shoveled each time
Then we got another 4 or so last night and I shoveled again today,
And now that work is covered again...
I ran the 'borrowed' snow blower this morning at 8:00 am. There was 9 inches worth then, four more by the time I quit at 9:30. All our deck furniture is covered. The gas grill w/cover looks like a buffalo!
I am SOOOOOO glad I am in Texas!!!!
It is cold here, but no snow. Well, at least not now. They are predicting some for tonight/tomorrow. I may have to take the train to work, instead of the 914-6.
Good day for pig hunting, 40 degrees and overcast if it just wasn't so muddy. It's a pain to wash a muddy hog off in 40 degree cloudy weather.
This storm is ridiculous. We have already gotten as much snow as we did last Friday. At times it is total whiteout. Awesome!
Zach
Hope the firewood is dry. Imagine what it would be like without global warming happening.
I second what Mike said.
My poor bus
Hey guys, I will take all of your snow!!!! Have you ever been on 275 horsepower that only weights 500 lbs full of fuel. Here is what it looks like and it is one of the most excieting things on this planet, IMO It is built for hill climbing here in the steep and deep of Utah.

I am all done digging, now i am still waiting for a plow.....

And I am sitting by my pool soaking up the sun and giving tech advice over the phone.
DR. If your outside try that tomorrow, it's snowing in dallas and the overnight temps will be around 24 and I think atlanta is further north than dallas. Good luck with the upcoming sale, I can't think of anything big I need right now.
Looks like we were lucky enough to miss this one too.
It tracked a little too far south to do much damage here. I'm not complaining though.. Have had more than my fill of snow over the years. We have bare ground here in Northern Massachusetts and I'm glad we do. Here is what my driveway looked like last year. Dodge Diesel had so much snow under the hood all I saw when I opened it was the imprint of the sound deadening material. It still started and ran. Wind is generally so bad that there is bare ground in places and 6' drifts right next to it.
Oh... a weather forecaster from NOAA is predicting that there will be snow on the ground in all 50 states at once.. even Hawaii. Never happened before in recorded history!!!!
