Some of you have expressed interest in helping with the http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=102807 by donating parts so here's your chance to help us out!
The Limo project is split into two phases, Phase one is to get her mechanically in good working order and roadworthy. Phase two is to make her look pretty.
Right now we're still lacking some of the basics to make this a running car, so if you have any of the parts listed below collecting dust in your garage, feel free to send them our way.
All contributors will be officially acknowledged and will also receive steep discounts on future limo rentals!
914Limo Parts needed: (List updated 10/20/2013 by SirAndy)
I've got a fuel tank for the cause. How soon do you need it? Maybe if there's someone heading to the Bay Area from the NW they could transport.
Cool project.
Ok, I'm traveling to Half Moon Bay soon. I would say within 30-45 days to pick up Sandy's new 914. I have two seats, maybe a back pad, center tray with pad and maybe both doors if they turn out to be ok rust wise. I can deliver these. I had already planned on visiting Marks shop on my way home. I'll check the parts tomorrow and post photos.
It is likely that you will find parts locally before I get out there though. So, lets see how it goes.
I'll gladly rebuild the gear box if you get it to me before I go away
Been watching this project for a while....
I have a tired 1.7L sitting at my shop floor and will ask the owner if he wants to toss it over to me after installing the 2.0L in his car.... I should know probably at the end of this month...
Will that be okay to wait till then? Or you need it ASAP?
j
I think I have the two doors Hope green will work.....
This thread was all the way back on pg 5. Are you finished with the build yet?
Andy, Let us know how your doing with parts collection. I leave for Half Moon Bay March 9th arriving around the 10-11th If you haven't located good Cal parts I can drag out my MN stuff then.
Heeltoe914 has doors So I will leave mine here. I have a set of seats that need reupholstry and good center pad and ok (I think.. ) back pad.
Oh! BTW: Paul (lotus_65) is half owner of these parts. So these are coming from both of us.
Sorry guys, i've ben busy with other projects.
We'll be back working on the Limo this weekend and i'll have time to discuss things with McMark in detail ...
Andy
I have the backpad out of my car. I was going to save it in case I ever wanted it, but what the hell, you guys need it more than I do!
Let me know where to ship it.
I pulled the wire harness out of my car, pretty carefully..decided to replace the whole thing vs cutting it up,,, "74....
I have a winshield to targa seal that would work for a mock up. I but worn and torn, but all there.. Do we have an address for shipping?
I'll get in touch with each of you this weekend.
Shipping will most likely be to McMark's shop in Sonoma, CA.

Do you need a windshield too? +1 on the wiring harness and +1 on the gas tank...
Mark and i compiled a more complete list of things still needed. He'll post it here later ...
Andy
Can't imagine I have anything worthwhile on the ruster but hey, I leave the 9th for the gold coast!
Man, I wish I had a spare 2.7/6 to build for this. Anyone have parts??? 2.7 parts seem to be prevalent and I bet we can assemble something if everyone pitched in
I still need to get the backpad down from the attic. What is my deadline?
You need a punch list and a crew every weekend. You need a forman to point out tasks and watch over the work as it prorgesses. Remember, there are 24 hours in a day and 5 guys can get a weeks worth of work done in a day.
914Limo Parts Needed
I updated the first post with the new list and shipping address ...
Andy
Hey, I'll donate.... I have several very nice sets of seat rails. If you want a set, let me know. I can send pics and you can choose the set??
Can somebody swing by and pick up some of these parts???
Before I waste resources shipping this thing, will this work? It ain't perfect. I didn't know if you planned on recovering it or not. Lemme know...
I would delete those pics before Ferg sees them!
Paging Mark or Andy. See post 35.
I've got some metric brake lines to donate. 10mm nuts, line, couplings, all new stuff.
I have the center pad, but no tray. Do you need any interior pieces like the black parts on iside of targa or windshield frame? I have aluminum threshold plates. I will be passing through on thursday.
And when you say seat rails do you mean the part that bolts to the floor, or the part that bolts to the underside of the seat or both? I have some parts that bolt to the underside of the seat, with good handles.
ah-hem.....
Mark or Andy, see post 37 that directs you to post 35.
That back pad looks workable to me!
I have the windshield, a +1 wiring harness (got burnt), the door striker plates, and other related parts...
I just can't make it to Sonoma anytime soon....
Rob, i can probably swing by next weekend and pick up some stuff ...
I'll be back at McMark's shop in Sonoma tomorrow, Sunday 03/04.
If anyone wants to come by and turn some wrenches ...
Andy
PS: Big thanks to Chris for helping out today!
You're welcome.
I got a lot of practice doing tar removal grunt work, an overdue project I need to do on my 914. If'n you get geared up to patch little holes in the floorpan, I will come by and help more for practice and perhaps we can weld in a few new spots under my passenger seat. Wishful thinking, I know!
After seeing it, my head is swimming with Limo ideas! I'll see what other parts I can dig up to donate. I have some old Alpine 6x9 speakers in boxes from a previous truck....
Mark/Andy,
I have a set of 944 seat belts I'll throw your way. Complete with all the hardware.
I'll try and get them out withing the next week...
YES!!!
If you give me an updates parts needed leis I can probably supply most of the small parts. I have tones of replated latches and hardware. Also have the replated striker plates. Also need a shipping address. You probably posted it but I am to lazy to look through the thread to find it. I claim that as a senior citizen right.
Hey Andy, I'm around the house this weekend if you've got time..
I think Dr. Evil has a Prius hybrid drivetrain he would donate....
Hey Guys,
How current is the "parts needed" list?
Will the Limo be ready for the WCR 2012 ?
New list??? Need a transmission?
I'm going to resurrect this thread since we're in need of a few parts.
Currently needed:
- Passenger side engine shelf replacement
- Rear half of a floor pan
If you have either one of those collecting dust in your garage and you'd like to help out getting the 914world Limo on the road, please let me or McMark know.
PS: See this for reference ...
