After a year of fixing and rebuilding, i finally drove my car today for the first time.
I must say it was a lot of fun and worth all the time and effort i put into it.
I'm going out to drive it again right now.
CONGRATS MAN!!! I can hardly wait to drive my teener... my wife is ready for me to drive it too... so I will shut the F up about it!
congrats......I'm still a few weeks away from driving my 914
at least I'll have Dave Darling beat....LOL
Man, I can bearly stand to read this one. My car must be months away from driving again and it is killing me. Why did I ever start this restoration project? Besides the rust, bad paint job with overspray everywhere, bad or no weather seals, worn out and used up everything, 1.7 in a 2.0 car and leaking oil everywhere, battery hanging on a bungee cord, yeah, now I remember why. Need to buy another one to drive. Oh shit, where's that 12 step program book?
Bungee cord...that sounds familiar. Wait, that sounds like me!
William,
I've got a 76...so I've got smog to deal with too.
So don't feel TOO bad...

Wheels are "ATS".
Paint is Mercedes Benz "code DB744 Brillliant Silver".
GREAT JOB !!
After looking at the before pictures you have really done a great job.
Great job and beautiful car. It's nice to see a teener within 500 miles of me. I should stop in to chat next time I'm in the area.
Congrats
Glad you posted the paint colour I thought my monitor colours were way off
Pouring rain here today, 1/2 the snow melted in the yard, if things (no more snow) keep up I will be driving the 70 in a few days.
