I see some odd parts here I've never seen before. Cool stuff to look at.

Yup - dropped a few Bills a couple of months ago, & they delivered immediately - so I canceled a couple of parts which PP claimed were B/O since last June 09! Good guys too! Last independent Porsche parts shop left in the LA/OC area where you can actually walk into it IIRC! dry.gif

I usually cross check prices & availability between SMC, PP, Pelican & AA, etc. then get what I need wherever has the best overall price - or whomever has a difficult to find part. Sometimes SMC is the one which comes thru for the hard to find ones.

You probably noticed a lot of 356 & vintage 911/912 stuff there too.

This is another one - NLA Parts - mostly for the 356 crowd, but they have a few parts & grey exhaust paint for our 914s:

Got my "Ring" badge from them. Seems like a good shop.

I agree some real neat "stuff" What I cannot understand is how they can recreate things with the porsche trademark dress and logos though.

The lawyers probably have not found them yet.

Now that VW owns them, Their lawyers are hunters! I remember back in the 80's when VW went after everyone that was using the "VW" logo. A crap load of "Cease and Desist" notices were sent out to people I know in the replacement parts / repair business.

They had a vendor booth set up at the PCA swapmeet in Anaheim last Sunday. Very nice people, they had a nice display of selected products.

I have posted the Sierra Madre link several times in the past year or so. It's where I get the hard to find windshield wiper parts.

I don't know... confused24.gif I saw it on a race car and thought it might make me go faster. I used some construction adhesive and glued it on my car.

A little caution would be advisable for some of the SMC items.

For instance, their 'Factory Parts Manual' is nothing more than the free PET document, in a slick red binder with tabs. This is not a 'Factory Parts Manual' and some may be duped. Not to say its not a useful item, but is it worth $85? At least they refunded my money without too much of a challenge, and they now more accurately describe it as a copy, but they did not used to.

I bought a rear view mirror pretty inexpensively, it worked, but the joint on the ball socket was at the limit of the upward adjustement to see out the back. I't functional, but if your over 6' it might be a problem.
