Everything appears to be working correctly. Hopefully nothing pops unexpectedly and this will work all weekend. See you in Tahoe!
Everything from here on out are LIVE pics!
---McMark
Note: text sent in the email is ignored, so don't bother typing anything. And the images are not resized automatically so please don't send full resolution pics from a real camera. Phone pics are fine because they're already small enough.
Iphone on hand, Ready to go!! Going through the checklist right now.. McMark, why dont you release the email now so we can ALL do post our "prelist" pics
Email address PM'd.
Is that bird poop on the driver's side of that teener??
Clearly. Oh wait, I can't say "clearly" when I refer to your pics.
Ok, I aks, and watch me PM box.
Getting stoked. See you soon.
The one of your car? that was damn clear for a cell phone! what phone?
HA! I thought the pile of stuff was Andyrew posting. I should have recognized your phone and the Jamesons was a big tip off. I should'a known!
Hmm well I guess it doesnt allow for text now does it. That was my last "test" of the night. GPS is programed. Iphone is charging, Pandora ready, were good to GO.
Evil bastard.

Jake needs to upload smaller pics!! My 24" monitor is exploding!
Sorry for the REALLY LARGE PICS BEFORE. They were sent to the address and not resized. I expected they would be shrunken, I was wrong. Mark, please shrink those pics. I was cussing at the ding dong who posted such big pics until I saw it was me
Hmmm.... shoulda built in some resizing. Too late now!!!
Ya think?
You are BANNED! Oh, and I just deleted your pictures because I gotz sleepin' to do.

Mike (Dr Evil).. I almost spit coffee all over the keyboard when i saw the 5K and 120 mph photo! At least the car is orange too! Have fun every body. Wish I was there!
There was a webcam set up at the Atomic Ramble a couple of years ago but this is a very cool idea!

I have tow hooks attached to Yopu and Nicho. I should be able to drag them out of the house and meet with the caravan at Chevron...
Me driving a little fast
Must of had a good tail wind
You guys are making me jealous. My car is still at Jack-Stand-a-palooza.

Where the hell is everyone??? We are here in RM 1159. We have not seen one other teener, and the top level of the parking lot has non-teeners in it.
Called Jimtab = nothing, Eric Shea = nothing
You must have missed the thread about the parking change!!

Thanks, Jeff. We had no cell service most of our trek.
When does the bbq start? We hit an awesome mexican pastry shop and are going to cjeck out the casino for a bit. Those pics from the room are my 12th floor horizon pics
That'l buff right out.
Looks like the Conedodger needs some dodging practice.
Mary and I are approaching Sacramento now so we'll be there in a couple of hours or so.
Stopped at HPH earlier today.
F your sushi, below is my "bad ass" pizza and "bad ass" 10% beer from The Brewery
On my way
I got here around 11pm, what is the schedule tomorrow, Friday. Is there a signin?
Which direction are you driving around the lake? I'm headed up the hill right now from Sac. I might jump into the group from Tahoe City or Emerald Bay.
Due to logistics and whatever, I won't be up until late this evening.....11:30pm or later......if anyone is still up, give me a text or a call..... 775-345-5628.
I have a room at Harvey's......dunno what number yet.
Here's the boulder that Jim hit in Conedodger's car. I'll show the video later (this is the highlight!).

Yeah that rock wasn't the way to kick off WCR . Sorry Rob
have another beer.
I'm heading down. We'll see how long it takes all the 914 guru's to figure out what wires I have hooked up wrong. I forgot my I am dipshit hat but I am sure they can picture it in there minds
Awake, head aches, see y'all at 1400. The forgotten session is the one I am doing on transmissions
I will spend the morning finishing up the rebuild video notes so I can post later this weekend
Looks like you guys are in for a good time. I would love to drive up from Carson City to check out the cars. I don't get off work until 6:00 on Fri and Sat. That would get me up to Tahoe around 7:30. Is there going to be anything going on that late?
I'm sure everyone is going to be hanging out till 10-11...

I was showing a house on North Lake Blvd at 11 am today and the current group drove by! Soooo cool to see 20 or so nice 914's go by in a line! I am still riding my desk and hope to get down there this evening.
I have Tahoe envy.
One of this afternoon's tech sessions: Eric Shea demonstrated rear brake caliper restoration techniques.
Dam I wish I was going. Soooo close, but gota work.
OK....what's the agenda tonite? Heading up soon.....
Around 9am we will assemble for the Targa Tahoe drive. This will take a bit longer than todays drive. After that, we will assemble on the lot, give away the swag, give away the awards, have a BBQ. Enjoy each others company for one last night...
The valance will not fit with my tow hooks on the front.
By the way, the car is damaged badly. It isn't just a flat tire. It will require a Cellette Bench to straighten the frame...
Dude, that sucks. I was kidding about the valance. Anything I can help with just holler.
Hey - there is my old car! Good to see it again. I'm surprised you changed the wheels...
-Steve
OK...room 872. Off to late dinner....anybody still up?
Looks like fun, folks. Wish I were there for the tech sessions.
Night time fun on Friday -

Again I wish I was there!!!! Dave
I'm driving up after work tonight to check you guys out. Should make it around 7:30. I'll be driving my V-8 Porsche. No, it isn't in a 914!
Nice!
Going up Kingsbury Grade.
A few of the guys had minor car trouble going over Monitor Pass.
We left 5 of them behind when the group departed after the last group photo op, before heading to Gardnerville, NV.
I hope they made it over the Kingsbury Grade ok.
NARM! Oh the humanity.
Very cool video Eric

Awesome video!
OK. Where in the heck are you guys hiding out at? The event is at Harveys? I drove all around the parking lot at Harveys and the Horizon next door. Not a 914 to be seen anywhere. I didn't go into the parking garage. From the looks of the pics it appears that the parking is in the open lot. I must be blind!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
For Slits...
You were missed.
Group Shot
Oh.. real classy.. starting to look like 911 / Boxster owners with that salute for sure...
What's with with all the IPB image notes instead of pix??

Great pics, great time, great event....thanks to all who put in the time to entertain the rest of us. Not too much mayhem this time, and I WASN'T that guy at all....how fast it all fades. Eric, thanks for the company, and the great pics and video. To Mark and ALL the organizers.....could you turn the heat up for next time? The scenery couldn't have been prettier, Tahoe is heavy on scenery and as usual the bullshit flowed like the booze....very fun. So......where are we gonna do this next year? I'm already ready, got some sleep after I got home today, damn, I'm getting OLD!
I love all the pics. I have a bunch, but most are similar to those already posted. I just wanted to show the lengths some people would go to, to acheive the perfect picture!
OUCH!!!
McMark was either hating life or loving life just then, but only he knows which for sure and I heard he ain't saying!
Who says I have a stick up my ass?
Great pictures! fun to look at lotta great cars

Lots of great photos in this thread, many happy memories - thanks to the organizers for making this event possible!
PS. Randy, your pics of the scenery are breathtaking!
Great pictures! Wish I could have been there. Looks like a really great turn out!!
Randy...great pics! If we cover your entry fee will you cover every event??
Randy and I are already working on plans to get to the RRC this year. Hopefully, if I can get my car running again, it'll make it past Reno.
looks like a blast, looks like i need to go next time!
It's hard to fathom that Z and Evil are the ones "outside" the trunk and "not" holding the whiskey bottles

Beautiful cars and scenery.
Is it just me, or is the front ride height too low on most of the cars photographed? Some rears are clearly lowered, but the fronts on most of the cars look too low.
Yeah that was a great time! Thanks to everyone !!!

Last pack of 4
The last time Mary and I were in California was 16 years ago and I'm not sure when we will make the trip again so we did our best to fit a lot into our schedule.
Unfortunately our flight was delayed by 3 hours and we arrived in San Francisco around 3:30am. We didn't even get to sit anywhere near each other on the flight and were both rather miserable when we reached our hotel in Burlingame at 4:30.
After a very late breakfast in the hotel our first stop was the San Mateo County Clerk's Office for an official copy of my birth certificate. Now I can get back into the country after we go to Monaco for the F1 Grand Prix.
I couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit HPH since we were right around the corner.
Rich got back from running some errands just as we arrived, so he took us on the grand tour.
Then we headed down to San Jose to see my nephew and his 7 month old baby.
This is his little repair shop on W. San Carlos.
and Madison
Then we headed for Tahoe late Thursday afternoon and ran into rush hour traffic.
That's something I pretty much never have to deal with at home. It took us more than 5 hours to get there.
I'm pretty sure we saw a wolf on rt50 coming down the mountain after dark.
We arrived just a few minutes too late to join the party behind Harrah's.
Friday morning we ate breakfast right next to Eric Shea and Jim Tabor at The Driftwood. I said to Mary "I bet those two guys are here for the WCR. I'm sure I recognize the bearded one and the other one looks familiar too." She said "Is wearing sneakers with no shoe laces the style out here? It looks gay."
I was wearing a 914 sweatshirt and hat so you'd think they would speak up, but they were too busy making eyes at each other to notice I guess. So the introductions had to wait for the parking lot right before the Picture Rally.
Since we were not driving a 914 we took up the rear on the rally, following Rob Sime.
I kept wondering when we were going to turn left again because Rob kept his signal on for over 15 miles.
(continued)
I was all set to nominate him for "that guy"
but Mary and I decided that would be like throwing salt into a wound.
We had a great time driving around the lake and trying to find the things we were supposed to photograph.
Mary got distracted by the interesting scenery though.
After the rally we decided to go out for a nice dinner and discovered Evans American Gourmet Cafe. That place was excellent. A top notch place you would never suspect from the outside. We even drove by it without noticing it there at first. There were only about 10 tables in the dining room.
When we got back to the hotel I was too stuffed and inebriated to sleep so I walked out back to the parking lot where McMark was trying hard to get Jamie's Creamsicle to start. I was sure after the fuel lines in the engine compartment were switched the right way around that the last hurdle had been cleared but I guess not, since it still wouldn't fire the next morning.
Mary and I really wanted to spend some time together outdoors so we went on a nice hike near the lake. We took the Rubicon Trail from Bliss State Park over to Emerald Bay.
(continued)
We had a really good time. The weather and the scenery were fantastic.
When we hike in the White mountains we are often above tree line, at the same elevations where we encountered giant pines and redwoods in the Sierras.
It was a warm day but in some places the snow still went right down to the lake shore.
Looking back at the hillside we were hiking on a few minutes earlier.
We started at an elevation of around 6500 ft and went right down to the lake.
Along the way we encountered some cool flora and fauna.
and when we got to Emerald Bay we had a different view of the Castle on the Lake tea house.
(continued)
A Sternwheeler tour boat came into the bay while we were there.
Not quite sure what this was but it looks cool anyway - a fungus of some kind I guess.
Mary was uncomfortable with me driving on the twisty road back from the state park. Little did she know what was in store for Saturday.
She was a little too anxious to take pictures during the Monitor Pass portion of our drive but managed to take some pictues of the open spaces around us in the mountains.
When we left Sunday morning we took one last look back at where we had been.
Then we headed for wine country for our last scheduled stop.
Just before we got to Napa we saw this Lotus on the highway.
I didn't even see this statue.
We went to the V. Sattui winery which Janell Whitesell recommended.
I'm glad we went there. It was a very nice place with excellent wine and they don't ship to Connecticut so I bought a case.
and the place we really went there for was
The wine tasting room was exactly as I remembered it from 16 years ago.
The wines they produce are truly impressive and I couldn't resist getting a case there too. I guess I don't have to go racing this year.
We had just enough time for one last stop. I thought we should go to Sonoma for dinner and we found this place downtown called The Girl and the Fig. It was a nice way to cap off a very special trip to someplace we may not get to again for a long time.
And on the way back to the airport I found out exactly where Infineon (Sears Point) Raceway is.
Thanks for coming Chris and excellent photo's!
What a coincidence you picked Sattui to visit, one of the guys at WCR (Justin) got married there about a year and a half ago!
Great photos and fun story to go along with it. Thanks for sharing!
Is there a message here?
See you on Saturday Mike?
Might want to have the Dr. wear a cowbell.
When there is alcohol around, he tends to want to hump something! Especially when theres a bon fire and a guitar around!
Ok,my turn to post a couple of pictures.
I thought this Alcohol permit in Markelsville was funny. Are they really going to sell booze out of the out house?
And a reflection of a 5 hole gas burner on Paul Sayegh's fender.

FYI Mr. Foley, we went around the lake counter-clockwise. If we had gone clockwise, I would have had my right signal on!
Great Event. Good friends - clean roads - clear skys
As usual . . . . I took the long way home.

Fortune favors the prepared
Thanks again for coming up/down/out to Tahoe! All of the photos I took at the event are now located on my site at: http://pixelrandy.zenfolio.com/wcr2010 - They're at full resolution, so most shots are good for prints up to 20 x 30 inches. You can either download the photo(s) and print the photo yourself, or you can choose to print directly through my gallery. The printing is done by Mpix and I've always found their prints to be top-notch. They're located in the mid west, so prints will be mailed to you.
To print from the site, just click on a thumbnail and then let your mouse hover over the left-hand portion of the medium sized photo. You'll see a slide-out menu that will allow you to add the photo to your cart. Likewise, you'll also see the option to download the photo to your computer.
Here are the direct links to the group photos:
