Hot in the sun, did some selling, did some buying, came home with a little more $$ in my pockets than I left with.....Glenn put on a barbeque, met some listers that I have been trading threads with....vegas racer, red beard, dave darling, the ever popular toast, 415PB and his wife....the 2056 did not sell....but it called to Rod....BUY ME... while the wife held her hands over his ears.....
Life is good....
Others in attendance....Grumpy/Ginter, Sammy was there with his turbo 911 SC, Steve Malm in his wife's vette, Slits, and many more.....good turnout.
Mike, my wife was definately holding her ears, saying..no, not another motor. On the way home she told me that she was glad that you did not moon her It was nice meeting everyone there, real nice people.

how soon you forget and after I spent all that money
Bernie
Oh yeah....I got ten bucks outta the old fart....
Not bad at all. I left with less stuff than I came with.
And Sean bought another car...
Great Event. Thanks to our host Glen.
I got to see some old friends, make some new ones and meet some 914Club celebrities. I sold more than enough junk rare 914 parts to pay for the trip, plus make up for taking the day off work. I would guess the total attendance was 80 people. There were about 12 guys selling parts. I think there were around 20 teeners there, most of them were VERY NICE and quite a few sixes. A few tail draggers, one lone 356 plus a couple with Zora Arkus-Duntov body kits.
Here are a few shots of the action.

Let's make a deal.

Checking out a sweet 6.

What are they all looking at?

Our host - the chef, and some hungry guys.

Mike Zois shows his good side.

Telling lies and cracking jokes.

Dang I wish I was there. I would of been all over the parts. I really need a 914 parts car. But my 914 is the very first one I have ever seen so doubt I will find another anytime soon.
Uh - grab a trailer and come to San Diego....It's sitting in Mike's backyard...
Heck I would come to san diego only:
If I had a truck
I had a trailer
I was older then 16
GAHH BEING YOUNG SUCKS
Being old sucks more.
But don't worry, you'll find out!
Glens event is getting bigger and better. Good to see everybody as always. There were a few very sweeeeet (read high $$$$) 914s there.

Steve,
Your missing a "C" in CSOBCOSC...
-Kevin
Fellow, CSOB
Nawwww, it's too set in concreate over the past 6 years or so as is, the "club" is given. BTW, my hat is already made!

I keep tellin' myself I need to start a central coast chapter. Waddya think, Steve?
CSOBOCC
I finally made it home myself about 45 minutes ago. Pics later. I need a nap.
SLITS was there? I want to meet this character. Did I and not realize it?
I didn't realize that was toast either. At least we got some pics to go with names. skline is in that shot as well.
Great seeing old friends and meeting some new guys. I got a nice tan out of it too.
Yeah he was there....looked like Bernbomb....only uglier....
Hey James, sorry I missed out on the swap, I was looking forward to seeing you and Mike and Sean there... I flaked out at the last minute. Looks like it was a good one.
Next time!!!
With any luck!
If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself

NICE. The black 6 is sporting a 3.6 and a 915.

Dave's pics.

Nice blue Four, IIRC.

"See the little teeners, all in a row..."
Attached image(s)
I'll give ya just one guess whose motor that is....
Attached image(s)
If you're completely asleep and need a hint, herre's one...
Attached image(s)
Some 1.7 SSIs... Someone got them for a very good price, as I recall!
Attached image(s)
Flip-flops and WWI pilot helmet. Wonder who that is?
Attached image(s)
Someone's jun... I mean, "quality preowned parts".
Attached image(s)
The rest of their stuff. yes, that was a heated rear window in front of the white lid. Us west coasters don't see them that often...
Attached image(s)
Oooh! Shiney!! (Reminder to self: Get some spray-chrome-like stuff for your own turn signal buckets. They won't be original, but they might be almost as shiney as these!)
Attached image(s)
1.7 intake stuff. I think the stuff on the snorkel of the air cleaner makes it a 72, specifically.
Attached image(s)
Fan, with timing marks.
Attached image(s)
Interesting custom interior bits. (Wrong patterns for the 75-only white interior.)
Attached image(s)
"Universal" fan--it appears to have both the L-jet timing mark (7.5 BTDC, 1.8 L only) and the D-jet timing mark (27 deg BTDC; 1.7 and 2.0) on it.

Interesting car having some work done. Not sure if the engine with the red tin is the original one to that car or not.
Attached image(s)
Closeup of said engine.
Attached image(s)
The reason why I'm not sure about which engine was in the car. Note the firewall engine mount...
Attached image(s)
Big brakes! Note "spaced" stock rear calipers.
Attached image(s)
And rolled fenders to fit wider rubber.
Attached image(s)
Back outside, we see a 20mm master cylinder. Yes, 20mm--see the "20" cast into it? I've no idea what that is out of...
Attached image(s)
That tasty black car (3.6, whooo!!) was giving rides all morning. Too bad I missed my chance to ride along.
Attached image(s)
Nose-on shot. Hey, what's going on with that bumper top?
Attached image(s)
Headlight washer nozzles! The owner said that he didn't have any of the rest of the system, though--just the bumper top.
Attached image(s)
Pretty... Wish mine looked more like this. Wouldn't mind if mine ran, either.
Attached image(s)
Hopefully that's not what is required for mine to run... But that sure is a clean install!!
Attached image(s)
Nice 3.2 Six.
Attached image(s)
Correction: Injected 3.2 Six.
Attached image(s)
With pulled rear fenders to fit 225s. Yum yum!!
Attached image(s)
A Zambesi 1.8 for sale.
Attached image(s)
Bumped up to 2056ccs, but then they put a single-carb setup on it???
Attached image(s)
Two Zambesis, nose to nose. The one on the left is Jason (from Pelican)'s roommie's car. It had points trouble on the way there, and had to be push-started to get back home.
Attached image(s)
I think I recall this one had a nice-sounding four-banger in it.
Attached image(s)
This guy came in late. I'm told he's a local Riverside guy. I asked, but he had no idea whose body kit it was. Not to my taste, but some of the lines are very nicely penned. There were a few cracks in the FG though.

And finally, the Piece de Resistance... Z's new avatar!
Yes, Z--a larger copy will be sent to you directly. If anyone else wants full-size versions of any of these pics, just drop me a note.

Is that Toast? She doesn't look too impressed.
Jen
Hmmm, I WAS gonna be nice and ask her before "I" posted it or used it as an avatar.....
Well...let me be the first....I'm Offended....
Actually Mike, I purposly made that face Actually if Dave would have taken the pic a few seconds later, I would have done the same thing to him except elsewhere.
Its all in fun.
No offence taken.
Now get thoes ideas out of your head boys!
Woof....whatya doing later? Wanna ride in my Porsche little girl????
Mike that's gross. You have little girls. Did that line ever work with me?
Jen
I met lots-O-old friends there (some older than others), hadn't seen some of em in a long while.
I met the toastmistess for the first time and Mikey and Ingo forced me to drink beer against my will
I gave several spirited rides in the turbo-tail dragger and didn't break anything, sold enough crap to donate $5 to Glenn and buy an 18 pack and still get home with a little more $$$ than I started with. Besides the sunburn it was a very good day
When we gonna get JP down here to one of these?
