When i burn through to bare metal like on an edge or other high point, is it ok to shoot etching primer onto the bare spot? Just worried it might react badly with adjacent primer

Technically it would depend on the prodct lines recommendation, but in most cases it would be fine. Assuming you are doing your body work right now, ? most decent paint systems primers are fine on small bare spots without etching first.

Tried the etch primer on the bare spots. Seems to be fine. Car is now in what i hope is final coat of primer on all fenders and the back of the car. Will see how it blocks out. Doors should be done tomorrow. With any luck, color and clear next weekend.

This things coming off the jack stands yet! For now, its about beer-thirty.
