914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Vacuum Lines.... Again

Posted by: tdgray Apr 6 2004, 09:06 AM

Someone mentioned awhile ago that the Bird had a tech article or something listing the approx. lengths of the various vaccum lines. Damned if I can find it. Wanted to order some new vaccum and fuel lines but I don't know how much huh.gif

BTW are we all agreed that it is OK to replace the plastic fuel lines with Stainless Steel 5/16 (oops edited) lines or am having flashbacks again? wacko.gif

i'll assume you meant 5/16" or 3/8" ...

several people have done it. if you're using stainless you'll have a harder time finding fittings and getting them welded on; if you're using hose clamps i HIGHLY recommend getting the prober tubing beading tool.

most people have used 5/16" mild steel truck brake line; easy to attach proper AN fittings to that ...
