914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Decel Valve on 1974 2.0 FI

Posted by: motomadness1947 Jun 8 2010, 02:12 PM

I just bought some very needed new vacuum hoses for my newly acquired 2.0 fuely.
Before I drive it at all I need to do quite a bit of work, but to get to the point, someone has removed the DECEL Valve. Do I need one for performance or is it an early attempt at emissions control. Should I just plug each one of the vacuum hose nipples leading to the decel valve.

Thank you chair.gif

You can run without it. Both hoses need to be plugged.

You car will drop rpms much faster without it. Same feeling you get from a lighter flywheel. If you are OK with that, run without it ...
