i have to admit, i have no idea where "Calberlah" is unsure.gif

Kalle,

You might try searching in the UK for one.. I know that a lot of the ones around here are California imports.

I did a search on http://www.autotrader.co.uk/ and found :

PORSCHE 911 TARGA Sport 2dr Coupe
In fact this one is a VW Porsche 914, first registered in Qatar, it moved to Spain before being imported into UK in 1997. LHD, 1700cc, 72000KM from new, bodywork and mechanics excellent, full MOT and tax. Asking price £4250 ono. Tel . £4250 02392 386609.

Tel: 02392 386609
Email: Email Advertiser
Distance: 42 miles
Price: £4,250 ono.

If you find a good UK car, then you save LOADS on shipping!

Those pics are awesome. Makes me want to flare my fenders and paint the bumbers black. I know it still wouldn't be a GT, but it is as close as I'm going to get. biggrin.gif

I've seen this car.
Absolutely stunning!

cheers,

Jereon, do you still have the site where that car is featured. I think its a German restoration company.
I lost that link..

Hi there,

here is the website with a feature article of the car from techno classica motor show in essen :

http://www.auto43.de/restau.htm

The car is a very clean GT-Replica and it took 10 years to complete it after the restoration of
the body was finished . I think it took more than half the time to gather all the original parts,
if not even longer.

many greetings

Benno

this is a better link with some pix ...

Only down part of the car would be the poor quality of the f/g hoods
My guess is that that's the reason he painted them flat black
If he'd painted them in a glossy color or glossy black, the "waiving" of the f/g would show even more

Still one amazing car though!

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: sechszylinder Apr 14 2003, 02:06 AM

hi jeroen,

i think these are original 914-6/gt hoods which are made from very thin fiberglass reinforced with balsa wood.

ciao Benno

Posted by: Jeroen Apr 14 2003, 04:52 AM

Hey Benno,

I don't remember, but they probably are

i don't think they were meant to fit well.
unlike today's aftermarket fiberglass, back then the FG on the
GT's was used for racing applications rather than daily drivers
with a "see, it's a real race car!" flair to it ...

If your looking for a car in the UK go to www.nineforteen.co.uk they sell cars plus they Know most of the cars in the uk and may give you good advise.
you could also try http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/uk914/ you will have to log in.
hope this is some help.

P.S nice site i get the feeling i may be back here again for advise

Yeah, but still...
These are not original f/g hoods, just replicas with the balsawood reinforcement
With today's f/g techniques you'd expect a better quality piece

i thought that my german colleague tried to find a car . Does anybody knows if he was successful ?

spricht .

BTW, I've uploaded two pictures of my "car-collection" to the
