Got a call from Garrett yesterday. He wanted to offer his 'yard' for a BBQ. For those who haven't followed recent events in the Tuesday Teeners thread. Garrett lives in Edmonds on a gorgeous piece of property that is ideally suited for a BBQ and car show. He claims they have had up to 60 cars arranged on the grounds in the past. It would be like having a private park for the day.
First off, we would need to decide on a date, somewhere from mid July to mid August. Either Saturday or Sunday is fine with him. Obviously there would be a few logistics to work out, but let's see who's interested and establish a date first. The rest can fall into place.
Here's a few looks at the site from the most recent Tuesday Teener gathering.
Let me know what you guys think.
Edit (7/3): Date is Sunday, August, 8
Details:
You don't have to bring a Porsche to attend, but it's highly recommended. Any Porsche will do, even donor cars .
We'll probably need to arrange for a portapotty. Donations accepted.
Food: Mr 242 is working on bringing a mega BBQ and he may have some special plans for meat, so stay tuned. I think we should go potluck style and have people bring another dish to share; salad, dessert, casserole, chips, etc.
Don't want to get over-organized for this, but if anyone has ideas for activities, etc., chime in.
The new portion of this post will also be placed at the current of the thread for comments.
Unofficial head count: I'm listing all the people who've said they may attend. This is just to get an approximate number. If you're listed and can't make it, let us know. If you're not listed and can make it, let us know. Also, give us an idea of how many people you'll be bringing with you.

I would really love to go... but it probably won't be in my Porsche. Got the engine going together, but need to do some welding and some brake work.
Kevin
Count me in, probably not with the 914 based on the slow progress I'm making but I will come.
I would love to go...
I could have the BINFORD 8000 rebuilt if we wait until August! My July is pretty much filled up and August isn't far behind in getting booked!
Wont' tow behind a SIX
I'll try to be there, whenever it is.
I'm good the first couple weekends in August as well.
Did he ever get the frunk open to fill his car w/ gas?? He needs to go on a cruise if he's up to it.
Trying to narrow things down a bit, how does Saturday August 7 sound? If that's not good, toss out an alternate date.
I'll most likely be there! Love BBQ & 914's
I Am IN, Any time other than 7/10-7/18, We are Talking about week ends?
The smoke from that barbeque looks just like the smoke I was seeing from my rear caliper this evening after pulling into my driveway. fun with a capital F.
If I get my brake issues sorted out in time, I'd love to attend. Looks like a beautiful venue!
I'm in , except for the first two weekends in August. I just talked to Garret at the 356 bull session about the all original 74 that I just picked up about 1/3 mile from his house. he wants to see it and I want to see his place.
Randy
Bellingham
I would prefer the Sunday the 8th or the following weekend of August 14/15th.
IF and ONLY IF, I can get that time freed up AND the BINFORD bbq is rebuilt; I could do some amazing fixins! Pork Butts, Chicken, Atomic Buffalo Turds! As of now I am trying to meet a rebuild deadline of July 24th on the BINFORD. So either of these dates seem pretty safe.
We'd be eatin good!
Will need a head count; spouses, kids, guests, etc. IF we get too many I would need some help with funds to get us all fed. (Hey, I'm a single dad and sending funds to my own SIX rebuild.... )
SO let's pick a date and go for it!!!
Mark
August 7th or 8th, I'm good!
I'm in just pick a date. Like coming down and seeing you Guys.
I sure hope Greenies not going to show up, does anybody else
feel that way also?
I'm in if its the weekend of August 21st as I am back in Seattle then for a bit.
This topic needs a bump!!!
Since this is looking like August, I'm In, any time other than the 14th. my wife tells me someone at her work is having a wedding, that I have to go to, bad enough I am giving up my Saturday golf, but for a wedding for someone I don't know!!! better have a keg!!
I will make it to the Edmonds Bash no matter when!!!
Greenie is a good guy let him in!!! He'll probably drive the 911....
August should be fine for us. I will hopefully get Garrett's car this week to reseal the engine. If the weather works with me on this. Every time I have the chance to get over there it is pooring
That Greenie guy is a real piece of work. It's like he doesn't even like us anymore .
but we still love the general .
Is Curt even going to chime in? or do we need to give him more crap
I just noticed this. I'll check my schedule at work and chime in on the dates.
August would also work for me.
Yes! Would love more of those "nuclear pepper & bacon" things! mmmmmm!
Sounds like fun I'm in. I think August is wide open, the sooner we set a date the better. I may actually be able to show up with my 914 by then!
Jsaum
I could be in for this. Is it a kid friendly affair? We were headed to Seattle in August anyway...
My foot hurts
So it's looking like August is best for all but a couple of people. Can't suit everybody unfortunately. I prefer the weekend of the 7th/8th. The Seafair hydro races are on the 8th if anybody cares about that.
Mr. 242 is thrashing to get the Binford 8000 BBQ ready and indicated the 8th worked best for him, so let's go with that. More details to follow.
Woohoo!
Oh NO... Greenie found us
I'll dine with Greenie, Nord, Canucks. . . As long as we dine.
So it's the 8th then. . . I'm in!! Me and my son will be there. I doubt my wife will want to hang with "the guys"
Greenie, Now we have your attention. Did you make it back from
your favorite Bar? Will you be driving a 914 or 911? this answer
may determine your parking spot at Garretts BBQ, in the yard
at the Pizza House down the steet.
It would be great to see all the Washington peeps again. Late July, early August sounds good to me (will be in Alaska Aug 14-22).
If the August weekend hits right, I will try to make it too!
Nate
I'm hoping Greenie can make it, he owes me a door handle. I don't know why, it was just something I made up in my head that sounded good at the time. So I'm expecting he'll have one for me the next time I see him.
Aug 7-8 is good for me
Repeat info from page 1:
Edit: Date is Sunday, August 8, 2pm
Location: 1427 Olympic View Dr., Edmonds, WA

Don't think I will be able to make it now I was invited to drive a car at the SCCA NT that weekend. I'll still try though
I will come, not in the Teener but in the 996, my daughter will for sure join me and maybe I can convince my wife We will bring some salad and cake. At which time do you plan to start?
I will still be in South America then.....crap.
Will need a head count on how much food to prep for this BBQ thing.....
I have the BINFORD BBQ and a couple other BBQ ways. Who knows what method I will use. So I figure I need at least 7 days lead on the total.
Thinking Atomic Buffalo Turds for sure!
Will figure out the BBQ meat later.
-Mark
I'll try to be there. Be good to see everyone again.
I'll be there also.
Let me know what to bring or how much $$ to donate so no one
gets stuck with the big ticket!
My wife and I will be there. What do we need to bring? Can I bring my little trailer with a picnic table.
Picture attached.
Thank You!!!
Phillip J. Haun
Oak Harbor, Wa.
I don't want to give everyone salmonella poisoning by bringing potato salad up from Eugene (5 hours sitting in direct sunlight in the passengers seat)
so please advise on what other item(s) I can bring besides $$$.
Me and my son will be coming fo sho.
2PM, sounds good!
Same day as the Portland Bridge Pedal... I won 't make it
Am I going to have to make a maccarronni Salad with shrimp, tuna, olives,
Sharp cheddar cheese, sweet pickels and hard boiled eggs? If you want me
too I will. Bring your own colesteral pills
Dan we'll talk before about the Valance.
I'm still cruisin on the BBQ build.
I have my good friend who competition BBQ's under the name "Uncle Jeb's BBQ" is going to help smoke up some delicious treats. Might just use some UDS's: Ugly Drum Smokers. 55 gallon barrels that make amazin fixins!
http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13224
(Don't get lost on that site or board people, it will just make you too large to fit in a 914)
I will BEG my father to allow me to drive his SIX and join 6Freak as a family event. Hopefully, the parental unit just comes along.
It will be great to hang out!
Bad news: It's SeaFair weekend. Working for Da' man, I hope they don't jack my schedule and make me work for that event. Cross yer fingers!
2pm is great.
I,m thinking. Really sounds like a good thing. Mainly depends on my back. If I do come, I'll brings something like chips, etc.
Tom
Saw this was the last thread on page 1, so i thought I'd channel ConeDodger and try a little cheerleading bump.
Only 31 days till the NW Teeners BBQ! You're all invited! Bring the wife! Bring the hubby! Bring the girlfriend! Bring the mistress! Not both!
Whew...I'm out of breath. Don't know how he does it.
Down to 30 days left. Can't believe you guys let this fall to Page 2. Let me hear if you're going to attend.
Don't take this as a threat, but if I don't hear from more of you I'm going to invite Greenie.......that'll teach ya
Marc,
Did I miss the directions to get there? From Edmunds ferry.
Tom
Any suggestions as to what I should bring? Has anyone stepped up for plates and forks ect?
Oh I am up for this as well.
In fact if any out of towners want to come up on Saturday I have room at my house for a few teeners. My house is only 10 minutes away for Edmonds.
Just let me know what I need to bring.
Inky
I really want to attend, I will be in the maybe category until I get my August schedule worked out...
I will have to remain in the maybe category for now...
Oh please bring the 911!
That way my green will not feel like a beat up old girl next to your hottie. She has a long way to go!

You must be getting really desperate Kelty!
Thanks for the very nice PM & speciall invitation!
I'm in for the BBQ. Gonna be quite the turn-out.
What's with the 914 guys always bending over?
A recent photo of Greenie...
Can I bring my 911?
[/quote]
Desperate men do desperate things.
Your attendance guarantees a boffo banquet.....now we have somebody to roast!
By all means bring the donor, we can have a drawing for conversion parts.
BTW, you look so natural assuming the position. Reflex?
Did I here that there may be 911 parts for Door Prizes? Super!!!!!!!!
I will bring the Salad that I described and as far as a date, we'll see.
Took me 20 min to find this, I felt a bump was in order
Okay BINFORD is coming along nicely. Next weeked it HAS to be done for my friend who is helping us BBQ on this glorious day in August.
So the questiong is can I bring this BBQ up early in the week and place it in the yard area BEFORE the event?
My dad has agreed to let me drive his SIX to the event.
I can't tow this BBQ with the SIX and I really don't want to be making lots of trips that day.
Please let me know so I can figure out the logistics of setup and BBQing.
Mark
Pretty sure Garrett wouldn't mind but I'll leave it to Marc to ask . His car is coming along well. I have the locks all nice and refreshed, engine is out but that's all, and the front is dropped about two inches to get it to the stock height.
Thanks for the bump Tony. I've been out of the loop for a week with some big projects that should all be out of the way by Tuesday. I'll probably be talking to Garrett tomorrow about a similar topic - delivering the portapotty in advance in order to avoid weekend delivery charges. I don't expect any problems with having the BINFORD on-site early. Mr. 242, when do you think you'd like to bring it over?
It's only 3 weeks away, so it's definitely time to nail down the details.
Michelle and I still plan on making it.
Maybe I'll even had the kid drive the Moster Squareback?
I plan on still making it although I have to retract my earlier statement of (I may actually show up to an event with my 914). I think I lost a main bearing the first day I got the plates on it!%#$&**** Let me know if I can bring something or donate to the BBQ fund.
Jsaum
I may show up early 13:00, 14:00 cuts into my hapy hour on Sunday.
Depending on the ferry schedule I'll be there 13:00-14:00, If I'm driving, : no happy hour hissyfit:
Okay, so the BINFORD is up and mounted on the trailer. My friend and I are doing a Charity BBQ today and will get it seasoned for the event in 2 weeks.
Discussion point is what we do for meat for grubbing. I can get pics today of the meat, but you will have to trust me this is BBQ and not grilled food. Today we are doing (okay he is doing) 25lbs of pork shoulder, 20 slabs of ribs, chicken and Atomic Buffalo Turds (cream cheese filled jalepenos wrapped in Salami)!!
His web site: unclejebsbbq.com
So it appears we can have from 20-40 members show up. I can spot some funds for meat, but seriously would like some donations to pay back on the meat. Thinking 10 bucks per person. The BBQ has the ability to feed a ton. IF you want extra meat done to take home, PM me and we will set something up.
Then we all should bring a side dish to share potluck style. A couple persons can bring the utensils in exchange for a side dish.
We should start the list of food bringin's so we don't end up with 20 Jello Salads or Potato Salads and BBQ.
Here's the new trailer and Binford pic from my cell phone......
Just need to have the tank sandblasted (anyone in Seattle area got any hook ups?) and painted flat black.
$10 donation for the meat sounds perfect!
I can bring Bake Beans and Texas Toast if nobody else has claimed them.
Offer still stands for any out of towners who want to come the day before and have a place to crash for the night!
Hey Mark you need money before hand. Happy to send some up if needed. Seems like I saw something on Craigslist about a Porsche swap meet on the 7th. anyone know anything about it? Considering making a weekend of it. Swap meet early saturday. Mariners game that night. Is anyone is up for the game? Not sure if I am bringing the wife & family up with me yet or not?
O K I'm in for $10 for meat, also I will bring the maccarroonnii salad
with shrimp, tuna, cheese, sweet pickels, black olives and hard boiled
eggs. Sorry guys I can't eat raw onions.
There is the John Walker swap meet that day, will have to come down
early to look around, I'm looking for a set of rims so i can put bigger
stickier tires on my car.
Been looking at the Mountain, The road up to Artist Point is still not
cleared but they have started work on it, over 8ft of snow to clear.
The General has volunteered the paper plates, napkins & utensils. We also have a ton of paper cups etc. we'll bring along.
The Binford with professional BBQ. Yummm.
I'd better start polishing Greenie now.
This is shaping up to be quite the event!
I need to correct this. The Walker Swap Meet is the 7th

$10 is OK, I will bring a cheese cake and maybe some salad. I will also be at the swap meet on Augsust 7th.
Does by any chance someone has 5 or 6 of these plaxtic nuts which are used for the dashboard? I can't find mine
- Juergen
Sue and I will be bring Dip (Georgia Caviar)(bean, corn, tomatoes, red/green/yellow pepper, red onion and Italian dressing) with scooper chips; plastic cups to put the dip in and plates to put the chips on for each person.
I put the address (1427 Oiympic View Dr., Edmonds) of the event into Yahoo maps and it shows it to be west of Alderwood Manor, Lynnwood. Is this correct?
I always thought that Edmonds was South of Lynnwood.
Thank You!!!!
Phillip J. Haun
Oak Harbor, WA.
the maps correct,
edmonds runs along the sound all the way to mukilteo
Just wondering if me and my girlfriend and may join you guys! My girl friend and I will be in Everett, WA visiting my family (and sadly that wierd guy Jon Bovey also ) I would love to meet all of you guys and hang out! I could bring beer!
I'm sure you are welcome James. Although I won't be there since it is the second day of the SCCA National Tour. I am codriving Matt's RS America.
I'll bring corn if there's room on the grill to warm them up
2 weeks!
This is looking like a great turnout! I've amended the list based on responses up to now. Listed what people indicated they would bring so we could see the trends. To date, no one has stepped up for strawberry jello with bananas.....what's up with that?
Looks like we need salads and desserts and maybe buns - don't know if Mr.242 is bringing those with the meat.
If you're on the list but haven't confirmed, let us know. If you have committment issues, just show up, we won't judge you.
Pot luck style is fun cause you never know what will show up, although with this group that's a little scary. So if you really have no clue what to bring, PM me; otherwise, surprise us.

I'm In, The wife has to work. So I will bring Fresh Pico de Gallo and Guacamole, Authentic chips imported from Oregon (actually the best I have had besides in a restaurant). Pitching in for the meat is no problem, I'll see if my fisherman buddies have any extra crab or shrimp I could scrounge.
I'll bring a bag of Oysters to BBQ (or eat raw if you're into that sort of thing) and some hot sauce. This is shaping up to be quite an event!!
Probably bring some kind of desert and some chips.
Jerry
I'm in for two and will bring the $20 toward meat
I've had a few things come up. I am going to have to switch to a maybe. Should be able to swing it still. I've got some things I need to switch around to be able to. I'll know by friday
I will be there in spirit

Hey where the heck is this? I don't see an address anywhere. Send me a PM with the info would you. I've got some mapquesting & planning to see if I can swing it. Thanks
Room for Corn...so sign PanelBilly up for that.
Someone sign up for the buns! I will have pulled pork for em.
Someone sign up for GARBAGE detail: bags and transport (a valuable donation to this event)!
Thinking of sticking with RIBS and Pork Shoulder. NO chicken, unless someone protests.
I would like to drop the BBQ BINFORD trailer on Wed or Thurs. Pick it up on Monday; that okay?
Phew...this is on it's way to be an amazing event!
Mark
I'm coming & I will bring buns! Mine inlcuded .
I've got things squared away. I plan to come up saturday for John Walkers swap meet. Then hit the Mariners game that night. Anyone up for going to the game? Not sure where I will get a room yet. Dont want to spend to much time stuck in traffic after the game. Suggestions?
If it is one of Jeff's it will be a good one for you Jamie .
Is this one of the one's you wanted me to do the reseal on?
I wish I had more time lately but the past few months have been crazy
I know the Mariners are flat out sucking right now. Seriously though nobody is interested in going saturday the 7th . If not that I am open to ideas. I need something to do after the swap meet? Or maybe /i can sell enough there to buy Jeff's 914.
Who's been to John walkers swap meet & what would be good to bring?
A good lawn chair
Quick Highjack!
Can someone tell me the details on the John walkers swap meet?
Ok, back to BBQ
Quick hi-jack:
Is there anyone coming to the BBQ that has a spare targa top they want to part with and bring to the BBQ?? I would prefer an early type, but will take any available. I'm NOT looking for a nice example; prefer UGLY-n-cheaper. Lemme know. . .
Now back to our regularly scheduled BBQ talk. . .
Marc,
Not looking like I will be able to make it. Drove the car a couple of weekends ago and when taking the top off I must have done something to my right upper back/shoulder and now I can't drive at all. Lot of soreness and pain. Much as I would love to be there, I will have to stay home for this one.
Tom
So where is the Walker swap meet at and what times?
I think it is coming up soon. It is held in Phiney Ridge (North Seattle) I'll see if I can find the date.
August 7th
If I bring my teener - "The Flying Shitbox" will it make the food taste bad?
Cheers,
Eddie
Dan,
At least it should sound better than your squareback ... especially when the exhaust cap is off!
Cheers,
Eddie
I won't be at the BBQ but I can either make sure it is there or you can pick it up at my house sometime. I live 1 mile off I-5 in South Everett
Nate
I've got a extra Targa Top you are welcome too. Drive up and get it.
Or call 360 nine six one 0593
HEY YA'LL!!! Been WAY too long since I've been on this forum! I just happen to be flying in on the 5th at midnight, and will be home for about a week before I head to Fort Riley, Kansas. Not sure what kind of free time I will have, but i might be able to make a trip up there. Got enough room to park a Galaxie? lol I'll try to catch any updates this next week on here and try to work it out.
Hey Jim - hope you can make it.
Wow, I am around so rarely and I see this! This sounds like the best excuse yet to drag the beast out and spin the flat spots off the tires.
Im in if theres room!
Has anybody seen the weather forecast for Aug 8th?
A quick read of all the posts looks like we might need some sweets. I will bring something of that nature.
As far as the weather, its officially a week away and even the mighty Woppler couldnt tell ya.
Looks Like I'm in. Breakin oil is in the sump. It'll be good to log some miles. Rocky, you and I should should buddy up.
Dave
Sounds good Dave! 1 ish at my place? do you remember where I live?
PM me if not.

Sunday is still lookin good for me. Not sure if I can bring anything with me. All my $$$ are gettin sunk into my car to make the trip to Kansas.
4 days to go. YIPEE
Looks like a great turnout. Definitely the social event of the summer for the NW. I've updated the running list to reflect everybody we've heard from to date. If you're not on the list, show up and surprise us.
We need ice. We'll have some ice chests available for people to keep their beverages cold, but we need about 10 bags of ice to fill them up. Let me know if you want to bring ice.
Along with your own beverages, be sure to bring chairs. We'll have some shelters to protect us from the blazing sun, but you want to have something to sit on.
Thanks for all the responses, this is shaping up to be a real good time!

This is sounding more like a Texas style BBQ, which has nothing to do with BBQ but more with great food and hang'n with people who like to have fun. Since I grew up in Dallas I wanted to post a menu of what is normally eat'n with great smoked meats.
Texas Menu:
Any Smoked Meats
Corn on the Cobb
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Cold Slaw
Corn Bread with Honey
Texas Toast
Onions
Pickels
Grilled Bell Peppers
Okra
Three Bean Salad
Any Home Style Tossed Salad
Ice Cream (Blue Bell Vanilla is the best)
Any Chocolate Cake
Pecan Pie
Brownies
Carrot Cake
And Plenty of Towelett!
BBQ sause is not needed but if you must then don't let the cook see it.
I will be bringing:
Old Texas Style Baked Beans (they are on the sweet side)
Texas Toaste
Walla Walla Onions
Home Made Canned Pickels (jut a tad spicy)
Large Ice chest
Video Camera
And a Turkey if there is room in the smoker! (Need to know soon so I can thaw her out)
I will be available to help on Saturday to set up since I live just 10 minutes away.
This is gonna be fun!
Paule
Four new to me lugbolts just showed up in the mail from HPH! I have to show some condos on Sunday, how late do you guys think the fun will be going??
Sorry on the Turkey....no room or time.
I am buying the meat today! 4 pork shoulders for pulled-pork (anyone chime in on buns?) And this will be great eats!
6-7 slabs of ribs, 14 bones on each! Will be cut and served.....
PanelBilly is bring Corn on the cob and that should fill the BinFord. Cooking temps will be 250 degrees for 4 hours on the ribs! Custom BBQ rub by Uncle Jebs BBQ.
Atomic Buffalo Turds will be created on Saturday and served as an APPY as we wait for the meat to finish.
Comments or concerns? PM me.
Thanks,
Mark
You guys are killing me with all the talk of ribs!
They don't know how to cook ribs or BBQ here....damn Dutch cook everything to death like the Brits.....
I live on chinese food here....Tjauw min..
Have a great time.
I want to contibute to the meat/food fund. I can paypal today or bring some cash with me. Who is collecting again (to lazy to look back through thread)?
Can't wait!!
If you miss this; you're missing out!!
Take lots of pictures please
UPDATE: 12 racks of RIBS.
Seriously, LET'S GET SERIOUS, right?
Man, I spent an hour on the phone with Mr.242 (Mark is a great guy!) and I am jacked. The food is going to be awesome! I dropped off some shelters, tables and ice chests over at Garrett's today and the grounds look incredible! I'm not making this stuff up, we are set for an epic event that will go down in PNW lore!
Why wouldn't you be there?
Don't miss out on great food, great people, great cars in a great setting. We're going to need EATERS! So get off your butts and come on down. If you're not on the list, so what. Come on down.
If you're wondering what to bring, we need ice, baked beans, salads or desserts; but most of all, WE NEED YOU!
OK, that's it. I'm out of breath and my computer ran out of exclamation points...
I am set. I am taking tommorow off work so I can prep & load the swap meet stuff. I am also planning on bringing my 11 year old son along. Making a nice guys weekend out of it . I am pretty sure we will be going to the Mariners game Saturday night. To those that offered to let me crash at their place. I really appreciatte the offers. Since I am bringing my son along we will just get a hotel. Don't want to overload you .
I hope there will be some more kids at the BBQ. See you all soon
OK, now for some last minute details. We want to keep the lawn reserved for the classics (all p-cars included in that category). If you're arriving in a modern car, you can drive in to unload your stuff, but then we'll have you park across the road at an elementary school.
We'll be setting up in the early afternoon, so if you show up early you'll probably get put to work. We'll also need a couple of people to help park cars and direct cars in from the street.
We'll have some ice chests to help keep your beverages cold and will even have some water and sodas on hand to 'prime the pump' so to speak, but you're encouraged to bring your own.
There are some very nice spots around the grounds to hang out, so don't forget to bring your chairs.
Most important, don't wake up Monday morning thinking, "I really wish I'd gone to the BBQ yesterday" In the immortal words of Flounder, "THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT"!!
OK; So the wife and I will be coming down from Bellingham with the 74 1.8. I have a request, if anyone has an extra engine timing hole plug they could bring along, I'm in the market for one.
Thanks
Randy
I'll bring a little pot of beans
Randy: I have a spare fan shroud plug in my glove box for you. Just remind me to give it to you at the event when I meet you, cause I'll forget. . .
JRust: I'm bringing my 10 y/o son with me so he won't be the lone kid.
Can't wait!!!
I'm in Tacoma now! Feels so good being out of that east coast humidity. Things are still lookin good for me.
So does an American car thats older than the 914 qualify as a classic and get the priveledge of parking on the grass?
I'm driving the 914 rain or shine Sunday to the BBQ
See you all about 2:00.
If I put the salad in the front trunk next to the oil cooler that should
keep the salad cool also? Got to go get the Shrimp,
Now shrimp are the Purple things that grow on pilings in the salt
water?
I have a Croquet set, should I bring it? we could play around the cars.
So what time are we supposed to show-up for this shindig?
The time frames I've seen on the post range from early afternoon to 2:00 PM. I plan on getting there sometime around noon to help set up. Any one have an official start time?
Jsaum
If anything can be considered 'official' for a start time, that would be 2:00pm.
We'll be setting up some sun shelters to provide shade and a few other easy preps before that. Early arrivals will also be enlisted to help get the cars parked in some semblance of order. Hope fully we can achieve the same level of precision we demonstrated at XXX this year.
See you all there!
Just got back from John walkers swap meet. Got rained out at the end so we started loading after everyone else ran for cover. Really wasn't raining that hard. You'd think all the Seattleites wouldn't be so quick to bail with a little rain. Oh well it was a good meet. Didn't sell a ton of stuff but did sell 2 sets of wheels & othe rmisc stuff. So at least I got my trip paid for
Really looking forward to the meet & seeing alot more 914's. Especially Billy's new Creamsicle
Funny how Greenie is never confused when food is involved....and there will be plenty of food involved.
The California contingents looked to have had a great time today. Now it's our turn to feast.
Binford is hooked to the Superduty. Meat is seasoned and prepped. Turds built and taste tested!
I'm so excited I'm not sure I can sleep. Let's Bar-B-QUE!
I'm sure I will forget something as I pull out to drive there at OH dark THIRTY....usual event for me.
i would liked to have made it ...but i am going the Great Canadian VW show today...
Weather report from the site. It's dry up here in Edmonds with a brightening sky. I drove from Renton with the top off, in defiance of the H2O gods. It was misty til I got past I90 then it dried out. Weatherman says this should burn off this afternoon.
So, don't let the low clouds stop you. The BBQ is heating up and getting ready to rock! See you soon.
the steak bites are in marinaid and i'll be there right after i cook em.
On my way. See you all in a bit
Dan no parts.
THE BINFORD IS SMOKIN'!

Just made it back from Edmonds, A special thanks to Garret and Marc (Kelty360) for putting together the mos excelent BBQ. The Binford 3000 was a hit, great to see alot of faces from the WCR08, now I can remember. Here are a couple of pics from my camera phone. some people had real cameras so I'm sure more will follow.
We missed Dan and Michelle, and Jon (bon)Jovey ?
ahh the peppers were soo...... awful! i just had a couple reheated!
what a day!!!
thanks to garret and tricia for the great day!!!
and i'm in love with the c5 roadster!!!
That was fun! Gorgeous grounds covered with all manner of 914s, 356s, 911s and assorted other classics. Great bunch of people just hanging out enjoying the cars and the company. And then there was the FOOD......OFF THE CHARTS! Mark Crandall (Mr.242) and his amazing Binford 8000 BBQ was awesome. Slabs of pork ribs, juicy pulled pork with special slaw, roasted corn, beans, chili, pasta salads, brownies, cake, salsas, on and on; and then there were Atomic Buffalo Turds.....impossible to describe, you had to be there.
Thanks to Garrett and Patricia for hosting and to everybody who showed up with their potluck dishes to make it such a relaxed, enjoyable day. It was truly a special event.
Large group of hungry people
Here are some pictures of the BBQ!!
Mike Crandall (6freak) couldn't attend but made an award won by Rocky for the best 914. Sweet car.
Who knew 3 '74 2.0s could look so different.
Can it get better than a picnic in the grass, surrounded by 914s?
Just to prove 911 guys have a sense of humor also, this beauty had a sign on that windshield reading "THIS IS NOT A PARTS DONOR"
Garrett and Patricia with friends admiring a pristine 19,000 mile all original '66 BelAir.
Even the sun made an appearance, gleaming off a row of teeners.
The man who was first to arrive, last to leave and worked so hard he never had a chance to check out the assortment of cars.....our BBQ chef extraordinaire and a damn nice guy...drum roll please.......Mr 242! Step right up and take a bow Mark; you're a rock star!
THAT WAS GREAT SEEING EVERYBODY AGAIN !!!!!!
Garrett and Patricia are so cool and nice grounds for a gathering
of unusual cars. Thank you so much.
Now we need to get back to the regular Teener Tuesdays up in the
soggy side of nowhere the PNW
Looks like you all had a great time! I will catch it next time.
BIG THANKS to Garrett and Patricia for hosting, the Crandell's for the BBQ and to all who brought something.
Food was great, cars were great, company was.....well.....just kidding - company was great as well. Good to see you all again.
I also need to thank Dave for getting the attention of my starter solenoid when it didn't respond at departure time. I don't think Garrett and Patricia wanted me camping there.
Started the SeaFair thing on Saturday. Sunday the plan was to watch the airshow (Best part) and then make it up to Edmonds.
Tried to walk through Sewer Park to meet up with my kid and got kicked out by the cops.
Rest of the day was ruined, everything was back on the boat, wallet, keys etc.
Sorry I missed the event. Looks like it was a great time.
Had a blast this weekend autocrossing but sure wish I could have been at the BBQ. Looks like it was a ton O fun with some great people. Hope I can make the next one
Wow, What a great way to spend a Sunday with great cars, great people and great food.
Garrett and Patricia: THANK YOU for allowing us to invade your beautiful back yard for a day!!
Kelty360: Thanks for setting this up and organizing it.
Mr242: The BBQ was outstanding; thanks for all your hard work.
All who came: Thanks for the great conversation and laughs.
Great time yesterday! Garrett and Patricia have the greatest venue for an event like this, its like their own personal park.
Mark rocks with the meats!!!
Thanks so much for the very cool gift although all the cars are pretty bitchen!
I need to get out more... I vow to make more events!
Huge thanks to Garret & Patricia for hosting!
Mark was definately working Binford hard yesterday. Meat was absolutely great. Hopefully we can talk him into doing it again for WCR next year in Medford. Which the dates for WCR 2011 are june 22 (wednesday night meet-n-greet) 23rd is the AutoX (thursday night another meet-n-greet for those not autoxing), 24th drive to the coast & redwoods, 25th show & shine/judging then drive to Crater Lake (that night big dinner with awards) Sunday is BYE BYE
Okay so there is the lowdown for all who asked at the BBQ. It was great to see you all there. My son & I had a great weekend in WA. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event great. Also big props to Marc (Kealty) for setting things up. I'm not sure I got to tell you how sweet your car is looking
Better watch out Troy. My daughter can kick your ass
Oh! I wish I could have made the event.
My wife was working and we are heading out on a vacation this week so there is so very much to get done.
Looks like everyone had a great time.

Eddie
